How to make a Voltpad account

This story is such fun, I laughed many times while reading it, but there’s a certain aspect that I wish we saw more of. Throughout the story, Amina is the one who drives their interactions, usually with some excuse of it being “just for fun” or otherwise. Though it allows for some great interactions, ultimately I cannot help but see Amina as someone trying to avoid genuine vulnerability. If this is truly meant to be a romance story, I would be curious to see Amina let go a bit and allow Momoko to return some of that affection. Unless that occurs, I fear Amina will just keep playing with Momoko and genuine romance will struggle to develop, as much as the characters seem to want it.

I’m shocked but very pleased to see they’ve had a bit of a dynamic flip. It seems like Amina was always in control prior to this, and always defining their interactions, but now we’re getting to see her off-balance from a single kiss from Momoko? The contrast is delicious, and honestly the descriptions of the yearning and desperation from Momoko feel really emotionally resonant. Even though they haven’t officially gotten together, the desire is so powerfully written it’s palpable.

Anyone notice some overlap in the top 5 this week?

While looking at the top 5 this week, I saw two stories that I’ve been following for awhile. I’m more a fan of The Blade’s Arpeggio and read every update as soon as it popped up, but occasionally I’ve also checked out Amina’s Amazing Adventure, since it’s also a gay fantasy story (which is like 90% of what I read nowadays), and they’re weirdly aligned? Like the romantic progression went at the same rate, down to both having a tall, dark-haired knight love interest, and often the same romantic actions.
They’re still pretty different stories, but when I saw them right next to each other on the top 5, I couldn’t help but wonder if there’s anyone else who’s been following both and noticed that too

Like srsly, I’m more of an AAA fan, but for awhile I was following TBA too, and there was one time where AAA posted a scene involving ear nibbling and TBA almost IMMEDIATELY posted afterwards with another romantic ear nibbling scene??? Then I realized they were REALLY in sync…. Like ya I know romance is formulaic, but these chapters would be posted almost RIGHT AFTER each other and sometimes have weirdly similar details??? It’s less obvi if u binge each one individually, but for those of us who have been following each story and reading most the updates as they come out its def noticeable

Hey! Author of The Blade’s Arpeggio here. Just wanted to set the record straight:
Yes, our stories synced up weirdly. There are external explanations as to why this happened—we understand why some people might wonder if there was a little bit of plagiarism or something, specifically with the intimate scenes (AlienXRipley actually accused me of this at some point), but as it turns out both of us genuinely coincidentally were inspired in similar ways at the same time. There is a reason for that, but I can’t really get into it in a public forum like this.
In other words, AlienXRipley and I worked it out, and I can definitively say we are both talented, original writers who are on good terms.

I’m really enjoying this story, the language is beautiful and the world is a rich tapestry, but I cannot help but hope that Kyoji will at some point return Yao’s affections. As a reader, we are privy to Kyoji’s point of view and understand their love is mutual, but I fret at the thought of what the story must be from Yao’s perspective: She’s continuously initiated interactions with her and received nothing in return. The story (and their romance) seems like it could be enriched if Kyoji would deign to show her a smidgen of initiative as well, and set Knight Yao at ease.
