Bood and Troy look at each other, knowing they shouldn't have seen that, deciding to let it be for now. They walk away.
Days later, Shane walks into the locker room, surprisingly not being trailed by Ilya. The team sees this: “Should we say something now?” Wyatt questions. Bood looks at him and nods.
“It would be the best time since he isn't with Ilya.” They walk up to Shane. “Heyy man, where’s the husband?” Bood looks around Shane. Shane looks at him. Why does he wanna know?
“In the office, talking to the coach, why?” Shane raises an eyebrow.
“You know you can talk to us about like, anything yea” Bood says, looking around at everyone, they nod and agree with him.
“Okay, yea sure. Why” Shane grew suspicious.
“You love Ilya, we know this, hell, everyone does. There’s just something that doesn't seem right between you two.” Bood stretches the back of his neck, deciding the next words that are about to come out of his mouth. “Do you and Ilya have any, uh, personal problems going on?”
Shane frowns; he’s now confused. “What are you talking about? Why would we have personal problems”
“Must be in denial..” A teammate whispered to Troy. Shane darts his head at the person.
“Look weve noticed Ilya always asking for your phone, he’s looking through it. He’s controlling you. You shouldn't let him do that to you. We know you love him, but there are boundaries to these things. You need to say something.”Bood finally lets out what he and everyone else are thinking.
Shane stares at them, not knowing what to say. Ilya finally walks in, noticing the team surrounding his husband, he goes over to them, and he sits next to Hollander. Putting an arm around him and glaring up at the team. “What’s going on here, hm?” Every person standing there looks at him. “Nothing, just checking on Shane. Seeing how he’s doing lately, all that good stuff,” Ilya doesn't believe it for a second. Ilya glances at Shane, “What are they talking about with you, moya lyubov?” Shane looks back at him before sighing.
Bood starts speaking “hey man, you don't gott-
“They think we have problems in our marriage, you’re apparently controlling me, and looking through my phone and stuff.” Shane blurts out. The team’s faces turned into shocked expressions. After they were trying to be sneaky about all this, it ended with Shane spilling it all out, no hesitation.
“Really now?” Ilya spoke and looked at the team, “That’s what you all think?”
“We know it! All those times you've asked for his phone, we see you scrolling and suspicious while doing it. Even that time at the club, you kept asking to leave, bugging him, then all of a sudden you push him out.” Troy butts in and decides not to add that he and Bood saw Shane against the wall, Ilya kissing him.
Bood nods multiple times. “You’ve got it wrong. Who decided this ridiculous thing?” Ilya asks, looking at Troy. Everyone looks at Bood before Ilya and Shane's eyes follow towards him.
Ilya reaches for the last time in Shane’s pocket and unlocks it.
“Okay, man, we don’t want to see that stuff. You two should do that on your own time.” Ilya ignores the man who is speaking and continues to look at Shane’s phone. Shane also looks at the phone, grinning to himself as he watches what Ilya is doing.
Troy, trying to be the brave one, decides to look at the phone also. His epresson changing. “Oh.” Is all he lets out. “Of course, I should have known it was something stupid.” Troy shakes his head. “That’s the last time I listen to you.” Troy looks in front of him, at Bood.
The team steps forward to see what Ilya was doing, the last to take a step, Bood, who finally sees the screen.
“Just subway surfers,” Shane says, amused, before explaining. “He has to use my phone since his is way too slow. He did tell you all that he doesn't have much storage on his phone. He downloaded too many kid game-
“They aren't kid games! Just simple entertaining ones.” Ilya says, focused on the current game he is playing. Shane looks down at the phone.
“Looks like a kid game to me.” Shane shrugs, not caring about Ilyas's opinion on it.
“Wow, okay, not what I was expecting from our captain, but you do you, man. Bood said, putting his hands up in defeat.
“So what have we learned from this?” Ilya says as his character gets hit by a train and he dies. No one responds, and they just look at eachother.
Shane butts in, “Never trust Bood.”
