No Control

Summary:

“The truth of the matter is… I can’t go back to Builders Brothers establishment after everything, Chance.” Elliot’s tone held sincerity, it spoke directly to the heart, faint, but soft as well, making Chance nod his head and tune in once again. A frown formed on Elliot’s face, replacing his general positivity that he used to hold, the atmosphere thickening with each passing second. “After watching so many people die to these bloodsucking monsters I– I just–”

Chance placed a hand on Elliot’s sleeve, observing the rhythm of the movement and hum he made afterward. They gave him a small playful smirk, earning a small chuckle, reminding Chance of what the man had used to be. “Hey, it’s all over now, kiddo. I know seeing him in such a state was… hard, but there was nothing to be done. He had complained for weeks of visions about this… thing, but it ain’t your fault.” For once, Elliot could finally feel relieved, taking in a short breath and finally letting out a smile after everything.

TLDR: a vampire fanfic made by me

Chapter Text

Robloxia was never the same after the founding of the infamous Spawnist church. They worshipped a new beginning, a second chance at living, a way to cheat death and rebirth yourself anew. They were a cult, known for the gruesome murders of several innocent Robloxians in the name of their false God. The bodies would be paler, dark circles around their eyes, they would be as if you had starved them, but the worst of all were those that had been attacked by those in the cult, finding themselves with the same symptoms as the dead, but with hallucinations, paranoia, the inability to sleep, and very naive. The most important part of the investigation for the rich gambler had been the bite marks that he would find on people’s necks, as if they were draining them of blood.

He had gotten in contact with Professor Dusekkar days prior when a victim had asked him to investigate what was wrong with them. He looked at the wound, looking deep into their soulless eyes as he watched them carefully. Chance knew this person was nearing their end, and that person had likely known it too. The silence was deafening, the look the two gave one another was a matter of, ‘You are going to die but I won’t tell you that.’ They started to leave before they got a phone call from the Professor, immediately calling back and awaiting his reply.

The office telephone had been hanging off the wall, convenient for Chance. He took it to his ear, the professor’s words had sent chills down his spine. “You cannot save them. They are too far gone, Detective.” He looked terrified, glancing back at the patient who begged for them to investigate who had done this to them. They screamed. They begged. They pleaded. But all of it went to deaf ears as he watched their body grow colder and slower with each movement. He watched their body rhythm start to go at a snail’s pace, their heart rate increasing with each second, a petrified look on his face as he immediately rushed to get the apothecary and the doctor.

Elliot, a man dressed in light brown tunic with a white sleeved undershirt, dark brown pants, and large leather boots, had entered, his blonde hair had been messy due to the influx of patients, and his face seemed to paint his tired attitude. The other man next to him, Azure, had been tall, more of a bodybuilder, but he was adorned in witches clothing, a cloak being on his shoulders and potions being kept in the holster on his belt. He had a flower crown in his hat, likely daffodils, and he seemed firm. “What’s wrong?” Elliot’s voice was shaky, a mix of worry and tiredness making it difficult to hear.

Chance started to frantically fidget with his fingers, “Elli, this kiddo is going to die!” Elliot snapped out of it, gesturing at Azure before kneeling over the patient’s bed. “They’ve suffered the common symptoms of the Spawn cult’s poisonings. We can’t fix it, their methods are uncanny.” Chance turned around to see that the mention of Spawn made Azure a bit uneasy, scratching the back of his head as he uncomfortably shifted himself to the other side of the room, giving the patient a dose of a homemade remedy. He gagged, “Dear God…”

“What’s wrong with the reports?”

“They got anemia, a serious case of it, too!”

“That’s terrible, Azure, are you sure your remedy is good enough to help?”

Azure gave a light smile, “For what the case of it is, it will prolong his life for only a small amount of time. I had discussed this issue with my fiancee not too long ago, and they gave me… information on the matter.” Elliot’s eyebrows furrowed, he wanted to ask them how exactly Two Time, a deranged schizophrenic, had known the answer, but he kept his mouth shut.

“Then tell us, dagnabbit!” Chance snapped, making Azure laugh a bit while he adjusted the flower crown.

“Chance, the thing they had spoken about pests ruling the streets of Robloxia.” Elliot and Chance both stood confused, but a bit intrigued. Azure shifted to the patient’s bed, crossing from the other side of the room. “They’re bloodsuckers with ancient powers. They can turn people on a whim into their kind and kill whoever they’d like. It’s not from the Spawnists, however, that much is true.” Azure turned back to the window, placing his hand softly on the edge.

Chance started to chuckle, “What? Blood-suckers? Vampires? Those are only in fairytales! Didn’t know the ol’ Timey was goin’ that nuts!”

“Chance!” Elliot groaned, facepalming.

“Say what you will, but link up the anemia with the psychosis, and do some research into vampirism for me.” Azure turned his head back, looking at the two, who had just been a bit worried.

“I suppose we shall, good day to you, Azure, and we really thank you for what you’ve done here.” Elliot bowed as Azure took his leave, giving a small wave before shutting the door completely. Elliot placed his hand on the patient’s forehead, an immediate frown on his face. The forehead felt icy cold, his skin brittle and cracking. Elliot could only look at the deteriorated state.

“Well… Elli, I suppose I should go talk to Dusekkar about this, eh?”

Elliot thought for a moment, looking to the right as he closed his eyes. “Could I go as well? I’d hate for you to go alone if what Azure is saying is true…”

Chance shrugged, “Sure, pal!”

“Alright, let’s get out of here. I suppose we can get Veeronica to keep an eye on his vitals and whatnot.”
