Chapter Text

MinuteTech

As soon as Minute got the message from Wemmbu he panicked. He had been doing an early shift when his communicator had pinged. He checked it, expecting an update from Boosfer or some random person asking him a question. He did not expect a message from Wemmbu.

Wemmbu whispers to you: im really sorry dad, i just … i cant take it anymore. i cant deal with Egg being gone any longer, i tried, i promise- its not your fault. thank you for being my friend

He had to re-read the message twice before he finally realized what this was. And as soon as he did he didn’t care about guarding the End. No one would be coming there at this time anyway. He frantically checked his inventory as he ran to go into the Portal that would take him to the Overworld. He had fighting materials and medical supplies, which was all he really needed.

With that quick check up he kept running. He jumped into the Portal, appeared in the Overworld, and immediately equipped his elytra and flew off. He double checked the coordinates to the Mushroom Island that Boosfer and Wemmbu were at, and flew as fast as he could there.

Yet he was too late. He was only a little over halfway before he heard a ping. Minute continued to fly as he grabbed his communicator, and his face fell when he saw what it was.

Wemmbu fell from a high place

And then it almost felt like his world had collapsed. He still continued to fly, hoping he could at least find Wemmbu’s body. But his son had died. His son had ended his own life. Minute had already lost one child (Egg), and then he had to try his best to help Wemmbu only for the demonic avian to succumb to the grief.

Now, Minute did not blame Wemmbu whatsoever. He fully understood why Wemmbu did what he did. Minute had seen first-hand how close Wemmbu and Egg were, had heard the two talk warmly about one another, had seen them take care of each other if they were injured or having a bad time. They were inseparable, and Egg was also Wemmbu’s anchor just as much as Egg was Wemmbu’s brother.

So Minute understood Wemmbu’s actions. He did not like or approve of them at all, he would have preferred if Wemmbu had talked with him or Boosfer, but he knew that Wemmbu couldn’t do that. Minute knew that Wemmbu struggled with communication, especially when it came to his own feelings. But it still hurt.

Deep down, the demonic voidling didn’t do anything wrong. Wemmbu had said it himself in his final message to Minute. But he still felt that he could have done more, tried to help more.

Soon enough Minute landed at the Mushroom Island. He rushed into the factory base, calling out for Boosfer. He got no response. He looked around, and the alien hybrid was nowhere to be seen. Minute guessed that Boosfer had gotten his own message and went to look for Wemmbu. With that, Minute left and started to search the island. He searched for Boosfer, and he searched for his son.

Boosfer

Boosfer woke up to the sound of his communicator. He always kept it underneath his pillow, wanting to always know when he was getting messaged. So he yawned and reached to get it, blinking slowly as he read whatever he was sent.

Wemmbu whispers to you: im sorry Boos, but i couldnt take it anymore. its not your fault, and thank you for putting up with me for these past few months, but i just cant do it anymore. thanks for being my older brother

The alien hybrid was awake immediately. His sluggish mind snapped to be fully aware, and his tired body was filled with anxiety and adrenaline. Without missing a beat Boosfer got up, didn’t bother to change out of his pajamas, and ran. He scrambled to leave his room and went to Wemmbu’s.

And Wemmbu wasn’t there.

So then Boosfer quickly checked the rest of the base, and still couldn’t find his little brother. After that Boosfer ran outside and tried to look around the Mushroom Island. And then there was another ping from his communicator.

Wemmbu fell from a high place

Boosfer froze when he saw it. It took him a solid three minutes before he started to move again. He was still running, but this time looking upward. He was searching for any tall place on the island, anywhere that would be high up enough for Wemmbu to…

He shook his head at that. He knew that Wemmbu had jumped, but he didn’t want to admit it. He didn’t want to accept it. He couldn’t accept that his little brother was dead and killed himself.

And then Boosfer finally found the tallest place on the island. It was a tall cliff with a steep ledge. He sprinted to it, hoping and praying to whoever that it wasn’t true. Yet, as Boosfer went around, he knew that it was real.

Wemmbu’s body was still there.

Boosfer originally had been trying to not picture the sight. He didn’t want to think of Wemmbu on the ground, body messed up from the fall and surrounded in a pool of blood. Yet that image stayed in his mind, and it made him more stressed and feel sick.

And yet, it almost looked like Wemmbu was just sleeping. There was no blood, his body appeared as it normally was. His eyes were closed. But he wasn’t breathing.

Boosfer ran over, muttering ‘no’ repeatedly as he desperately checked for a pulse. But there was none, and he already knew that. Death messages never lied.

By then Boosfer merely cried, carefully hugging and cradling Wemmbu and trying to convince himself that the demonic avian was just asleep. “This isn’t real, you’ll be fine, everything is fine,” Boosfer murmured.

He stayed like that for a long time.

Jaden_MAN

Wemmbu whispers to you: havent talked in a long time.. sorry for what im about to do. good luck with your pirate civ

“..What?” Jaden murmured. His face bore a confused expression, and he simply stared at the message. After a few moments he began typing a response. And then he quickly paused when he saw the next message.

Wemmbu fell from a high place

What felt like a small crack appeared in Jaden’s mind. “No,” he muttered, “he didn’t. There’s no way.” But death messages never lied. And with what the demonic avian had texted earlier, it was clear what had happened.

Wemmbu had killed himself. He had sent a goodbye, and then jumped. But.. Why? And then it dawned on Jaden. Eggchan had died a little over two months ago, and if he remembered correctly Egg and Wemmbu were very close. Apparently much closer if Wemmbu had ended his life since Egg had died.

“Oh, Wemmbu,” he murmured. Jaden was still confused, and still in a little of denial. He could feel his eyes becoming watery, but he didn’t pay it much mind. “..Hopefully you can be with Egg and Rejoice,” he said after a few moments. It wasn’t like Jaden could change what happened. But he could at least make an honorary grave for the demonic avian.

FlameFrags

Wemmbu whispers to you: thanks for being my rival and taking care of me whenever i was being useless, flame. you definitely kept me motivated to beat you

“What the hell does that mean?” Flame muttered. He didn’t think much of the message from Wemmbu. The demonic avian was probably not thinking and was typing random things, or something. So Flame went back to some early training, making sure that never got rusty. And then a few minutes later there was another ping. With a sigh he checked.

Wemmbu fell from a high place

Everything paused. Flame stopped moving, staring at the message. Any nearby creatures seemed to go silent. The only thing still moving or making sound was a cool breeze. “He did not-” Flame hissed, suddenly feeling panic. He tried to send messages to Wemmbu, but they didn’t go through. And that along with the death message just confirmed it.

Months ago Flame probably wouldn’t have cared. Wemmbu was just his enemy, a thorn in his side. But after certain events, such as Egg dying and Flame stumbling upon a grieving demonic avian, Flame’s view on Wemmbu had changed. He wasn’t just an annoyance or a cheater when fighting. He was a player who still had connections and had been hurt, betrayed, and broken far too many times. And that, along with his best friend dying? Yeah, Flame was starting to realize why Wemmbu did what he did.

“Void,” Flame grumbled. His mind was just a mess now. He got a weird message from his rival, trained for a while, and then suddenly his rival had killed himself? And then moments later Flame was trying to rub at his eyes, as he could feel them becoming watery. “I should not care this much, bro,” the demonic lion hissed.

Manepear

It was hours later until Mane finally saw the messages. He had been sleeping, as any normal person should be, so he didn’t hear the pings of his communicator. But when he did wake up, get ready, and check the device his world was flipped upside-down.

Wemmbu whispers to you: i hope i proved you wrong somehow, and that im not a lost cause. i tried my best… and you were a decent mentor

Mane had already been surprised at that. Wemmbu- his former student, messaging him? And with something that almost sounded like.. A goodbye? And then the lion hybrid saw the next thing.

Wemmbu fell from a high place

And that’s when his mind reeled. His former student, someone that he used to almost see as a son, was dead. And Mane couldn’t even apologize for calling him a lost cause, or gently scratch around his horns and force him to calm down, or make him go to sleep because he was trying to train more.

Mane had been too late. Too uncaring. Too far away to do anything. And now he was dealing with the consequences.

Notes:

Hope you enjoyed :]
(And I will not be doing anymore PoVs, sadly, I don't have the motivation for that. I also only watch Wemmbu's PoV, so if I tried to do Spoke or Parrot's I worry I will make it very OOC ;-;)

Fun fact for those who read the End Notes: Wemmbu has an honorary grave in the Great Sea made by Jaden, a grave in the End next to Egg's made by Minute+Boosfer, and Flame made a grave for Wemmbu somewhere peaceful (Mane visited that grave when Flame told him)

Have a good day/night/whatever time it is for you :D

Notes:

I hope you enjoyed it and suffered at some point :D

I'm still debating if I want to write bonus scenes for certain people's reactions to Wemmbu uh.. killing himself '-'
So let me know if you want the bonus scenes or not :D (if it ends up being yes then it'll take a while, btw)

(also if you're having bad thoughts please try to talk to someone about it!! You aren't alone!!!!!!! :])

Have a good day/night/whatever time it is for you ^^

(ALSO ALSO, HOW DO I KEEP WRITING THINGS THAT ARE LIKE 30 PAGES IN MY GOOGLE DOCS?? THIS IS 33 PAGES BRO)
