Chapter Text
As far as Gem could tell it had been at least a month and a half or just two and she was certain they were no longer in their solar system. The ‘Watchers’ as they had been calling them were horrible and were treating them like animals. This is why she was a vegetarian!
At least they had been feeding them with weird blocks that tasted like sandy granola.
For some stars forsaken reason they were most interested in Scott and from the way he refused to talk about what was going on, and the fact his roots were now growing his chosen colour of cyan instead of his gingery blonde, it was bad.
They were going to get her a couple times but she bit them so hard their blood[?] came out and it was a viscous purple goop.
Of course those monsters had to bleed weird as well, yet another stark difference to their already alien nature.
The band mostly spent their time cuddled up to one another, fearing if they let go then they would be hurt once more. They had brought Gem in there twice, while she was sleeping so she didn't remember much and so they slept in shifts. Impulse usually not waking someone up for the next shift because he was the one they targeted the least.
That and he didn't want to be the reason they felt tired in the morning.
It was time for their breakfast apparently as Impulse shook them both awake while footsteps, light yet loud, came down the hall to their cell. When it was in sight Gem could see it holding their ‘food’ and some water containers. But what surprised Gem the most was the other footsteps coming towards them.
As always they tensed and it soon became apparent why they had heard such different sounds coming towards their cell.
A different kind of alien was shackled and being led towards them. They had a muzzle strapped to their face and had their furry arms tied behind their back. If it weren't for the intelligent eyes and the fact it was walking on 2 legs she would have called them a werewolf. Maybe she still would, it was the closest comparison.
And they probably would have been very effective in a fight were it not for their obviously bruised and broken frame that trembled at the sights of the humans in front of them.
The Watchers went to open the door and in a sudden burst of energy Gem leapt up to fight them or just get out but the wolf-person was shoved in at the exact same time so they ended up colliding.
The forcefield went back up and suddenly they had a new roommate to share in their hell.
The alien immediately recoiled and Gem fell backwards hard. It did hurt but the pain did not quell the curiosity brewing in her gut.
She saw the fear in their eyes and moved back to her bandmates, Impulse shocked and Scott fearful. Makes sense, he was a lot more jumpy since all the experiments and a new and unknown, potential danger was not helping his nerves.
“So… that happened.” Gem said, not as nearly shaken as she should be. “What should we call them?”
“Gem, how are you so calm right now?!” Scott said as he gripped her arm.
“Well look at them! I think I could take them and I can't keep referring to them as Alien.”
“What do you think Gemmy?” Impulse asked soothingly to calm both Scott and the new person[?] in their cell.
“Maybe Wolfie? Or just Wolf.”
“Ok maybe lets let me name things cuz that's on the nose, even for you.” Scott said finally, giggling at Gem’s fake hurt face.
“Wow thanks so much, so kind really.” Sarcasm dripped from her words.
“No, I think I’m fine with Wolf for now. At least she’s not trying to hurt us!” Impulse snickered at Scott’s shocked face. Wolf was a bit straightforwards but agreeing with it was more than enough to catch a glimpse of how Scott was before all this.
“Ok-ay then. Hey random question, do you trust me?” Gem asked with a hint of mischief on her lips.
“Yeah, kinda hard not to when we’re stuck with you.” Scott said, rolling his eyes.
“Wonderful!”
She moved away from their embrace and slightly towards Wolf. The cell was small and if Wolf did attack her she could roll out of the way back to her friends if needed. Which she didn't think Wolf would but just in case. You know what they say about cornered animals.
“Hi.” Gem said softly to the very frightened Wolf and then she moved to lean against the same wall they did,

All Pearl could think was what in the actual fucking fucks had just happened. She was going on a scouting mission to a very illegal black market run by the Watchers. Grian, her little brother, wanted so badly to come but what with their shared awful background with the Watchers she said no.
After all, Pearl was the captain. And nobody could overrule a direct order from her.
So yeah, she was scouting and some rando Watcher recognised her with their millions of eyes and beat her into coming with them, snatching her onto their ship. Thankfully it wasn't the main one but no doubt she would be transferred onto that one in a bit.
Oh and to make matters worse she was thrown in a really small cell, with barely even enough room to stretch fully and even better she was stuck with 3 malnourished and violent humans.
Everybody knew that humans were monsters, non-sapient killing machines that would even go as far to hurt their own species. And yet they were pack animals, beings that needed a friend to not go even more insane then they already were.
From the news that got out about what 2 humans did to a small Watcher ship that tried to contain them and their entire crew was lost. The evidence came from the salvaged security footage and it was really messy. Blood and gore everywhere.
Pearl was obviously chained up but the cretin Watchers that took her had to muzzle her. Like an animal. She made sure to spit at them when they were leading her there. They beat her up even more for that.
She was definitely not physically capable of taking on 3 humans. Especially when they seemed to have enough energy to rush the entrance while she was being thrown in.
At least the one with red curly fur on it’s head did.
Pearl heard them making strange noises to each-other, seemingly communicating. They were practically wrapped around each other, shivering from the chill in this place and staring at her. But she was probably the only other species that they had seen so it was fine.
Besides, the attention was kinda nice.
Until that very same red furred human crept closer to her, moving to lean against Pearl’s wall. It warbled at her and looked at her with no malicious intent in it’s eyes.
