Chapter Text
It's a Monday afternoon. Craig is tired, it's cold as always, and he doesn't know if he'll have enough time to finish his history project for tomorrow knowing it's due tomorrow.
He had two weeks. He started yesterday.
It's been a while since he hung out with Tweek-I mean, he didn't see him today. The last time they saw each other was Friday. But whatever. Craig was craving hot chocolate. And since he hasn't seen the dirty blonde boy in a short while, it won't hurt him to pay a visit. Plus, he works at Tweek bros. And Craig wants hot chocolate, and a peaceful, warm place to study
Craig opened the door of the coffee shop, the bell above the frame ringing, he was already greeted with the smell of pumpkin spice and a cozy warmth. Tweek was cleaning the counter, he heard the bell.
So he grabbed his notepad and his almost-emptied black pen
"Hello, what can i get y-" Tweek looked up. He dropped his notepad.
Craig?
"Hey, Tweek."
"CRAIG?! What are you doing here??" Tweek looked surprised
Yeah no shit.
"What do you think i'm here for? I wanted hot chocolate, and going home now would waste time I could spend finishing my project." Craig huffed.
"O-oh. Right, okay. What would you like to order." Tweek stammered while picking up his notepad.
"Hot chocolate."
"Anything else?"
"Hot chocolate. With whipped cream."
"Right...A classic." Tweek muttered.
"Are you judging me right now?" Craig raised an eyebrow, looking mildly offended.
"WHAT?! NO!" Tweek screeched.
"Oh. Okay."
Tweek pinched the bridge of his nose.
"That'll be 2,50."
"That's cheap." Craig commented, pulling out a crumpled five dollar banknote and setting it on the table.
Tweek nodded. He grabbed the cash before opening his register and giving Craig the change. Then he started making his drink.
"What project do you need to finish anyway?" Tweek asked while making his hot chocolate.
''History."
"Isn't that like due tomorrow?"
"Yes."
"And when did you start it?"
"Yesterday."
Tweek sighed. He grabbed the can of whipped cream and swirled it above the hot chocolate before closing it with the lid.
"Here you go. You should get started now before you start stressing out over finishing it." Tweek warned.
'I never stress."
"Sure you don't."
Craig flipped him off before grabbing his drink and settling down at a booth. Tweek knew by now that Craig flipping others off was nothing personal and just a bad habit of his.
...
Craig had been studying for a while now, maybe a solid thirty minutes? It was surprising to see him study, despite them only knowing each other for a week and a half.
He's been stuck in the same paragraph for ten minutes straight, Tweek decided that maybe helping him a little wouldn't hurt.
So while Tweek was cleaning the tables, he glanced at Craig's laptop. His paragraphs were lazy but they worked. He still had a long way to go, though.
Tweek went back behind the counter and grabbed his school bag, where his project papers were. He took a photo of them and sent them to Craig instead of giving them directly, typing a small message with it.
Bro he's RIGHT THERE. Why are you sending it to him through text.
Meanwhile, Craig's phone buzzed, he grabbed it from the corner of the table and checked his notifications.
Tweek:
Here are my notes to help. Gl :)
Along with the message came two photos of Tweek's messy but readable notes. A stark contrast from Craig's own neat handwriting.
He looked up from his screen towards Tweek, who was failing to pretend washing cups.
Thanks Tweek.
Craig texted back before setting his phone back down without turning the screen off, using Tweek's notes to continue his work.
He got through the paragraph he was stuck on and started writing faster. He might've realized that Tweek's notes were quite helpful despite the messy handwriting.
And Craig was thankful, because despite him closing the shop, he let him stay until he was finished. And he had sat down with him to help wrap things up.
It was 9 PM.
So Craig packed up and got ready to leave as Tweek opens the door for him.
"You're welcome to come back, by the way." Tweek smiled faintly.
"I'll probably be back sometime. Thanks again, Tweek."
"Anytime."
"See you tomorrow."
And with that, Craig was already walking away. Tweek was mildly surprised at what Craig had said. He'd said he'd be back. He'd said they'd see each other tomorrow.
That night, Tweek couldn't help but think they could be more than friends.
Best friends.
He giggled in his pillow before falling asleep five minutes later.
*Boyfriends. cough...
