Sleep deprivation wasn't exactly uncommon with his job.
Astro has been in charge of the toons’ dreams ever since the show was airing. Every night, everyone would go to bed, while he’d give the toons pleasant dreams. Unfortunately, it used a lot of energy and he'd lose hours of sleep due to it.
It wasn't healthy, he was aware of it. Back then, Austin, his toon handler, would convince him to take a break if Astro clearly needed one. But ever since the shut down, the toons were left on their own and with no one to force him to take a break, Astro eventually reached his limit,
