Chapter Text
Scott doesn’t drink any blood besides what immediately enters his mouth from the initial bite. Instead, he injects what would normally be considered as far too much of his numbing venom into the human. Too much venom isn’t dangerous, unlike what most vampire hunters believe. It instead makes humans very docile, sleepy, clingy, and affectionate, almost as if they were a thrall, but without the lasting consequences. Abolish almost immediately stills against Scott, his eyelids fluttering closed.
Scott pulls away, removing his fangs from Abolish’s neck and letting the man collapse against his chest. Abolish buries his face in the crook of Scott’s neck, giggling sleepily as the venom starts to work. Scott sighs, shifting Abolish so that he can pick him up in a bridal carry. He would’ve much preferred bringing the human up to his own bed, but the bastard revoked Scott’s invitation into his house.
“Castle it is,” Scott mutters, walking out of town with Abolish in his arms. The human nuzzles against his shoulder, one hand gripping Scott’s shirt. With Abolish cooperating, the walk to the castle only takes a couple minutes, and soon enough Scott is walking up to the front doors. He places Abolish onto his feet, keeping one arm around the human as he opens the doors, picking him right back up as he walks inside.
Owen, who’s sitting at the massive meeting table and silently staring at a wall, looks over as Scott enters the meeting room and walks past the table to get to his bedroom. Owen does a double take at the man in Scott’s arms, but he doesn’t bother saying anything, unsure if he wants to know why the hell the scariest human is contentedly cuddled up in the vampire’s arms.
Scott walks to his bedroom and carefully places Abolish on his bed. He takes the human’s boots and suit jacket off and shifts him to get him under the covers. Abolish whines as Scott tries to walk away, and he grips the vampire's wrist, not wanting him to leave.
“I'm not leaving, darling, don't worry. Just let me go for a second,” Scott sighs, carefully removing his wrist from Abolish’s grip. He removes his own boots as well and unclips his cape, placing them in his closet along with Abolish’s things. Abolish watches his every move through half-lidded eyes, making sure he doesn't try to walk away.
Scott climbs into bed beside Abolish, unable to suppress a small smile as the human immediately cuddles up against him, practically draping himself across Scott's body. Scott starts to purr soothingly, feeling Abolish relax even more against his chest. Abolish's face finds the crook of Scott's neck and he sighs contentedly.
Scott freezes in shock when he feels Abolish press a soft kiss to his neck before nuzzling back against it. Scott relaxes and presses a kiss to the top of Abolish's head in return, one hand beginning to card through the human's silky black hair. Abolish practically melts against Scott, making a noise of pleasure that reminds Scott of a cat.
Scott isn't happy that he had to basically drug Abolish to get him to take care of himself, but he feels a strange and unfamiliar sense of relief as he finally feels the human fall asleep against him.
__________
Abolish wakes up groggy, completely unaware of where he is or whose chest he’s currently half on top of. He blinks blearily, lifting his head to look at who he’s cuddling with when a headache appears, one bad enough that he feels like his skull is being split in half with an axe. He groans softly and buries his face back against the person he’s lying on top of.
“Are you alright?” He hears a familiar accented voice say, and all at once he remembers the events of the night prior. The tavern, leaving to go find cure books, Scott finding him and noticing how sleep deprived he was, Scott biting him. After the feeling of fangs sinking into his neck, he remembers nothing. Abolish scrambles to sit up, ignoring the extreme burst of pain in his head from the movement. Scott lets go of him, frowning slightly at Abolish’s reaction.
“You’ve woken up beside me before, I don’t see why you’re acting weird about it now,” Scott points out, propping himself up on his elbows and watching Abolish closely.
“You bit me,” Abolish states, his voice cold and emotionless.
“So? I’ve bitten you multiple times before,” Scott responds with a shrug.
“You bit me without my consent,” Abolish continues, the emotion finally entering his voice as he starts to get mad.
“You needed sleep,” Scott says with a completely unbothered expression.
“And you drugged me,” Abolish adds, raising his voice slightly out of anger.
“And now you’ve slept,” Scott says with another shrug.
“That’s not the point, Scott,” Abolish says angrily, standing up and wobbling as his head throbs with enough pain to make him feel faint. A small voice in the back of his head tells him to stay near Scott, to stay by his side and never leave, but he ignores it, realising it must be whatever’s left of the venom Scott injected into him, making him think he still needs the vampire.
Another burst of pain shoots through Abolish’s head, his vision going black for a moment, and he stumbles, grabbing the nearest wall for support, a small, pained noise leaving his lips. Scott is on his feet and by Abolish’s side in an instant, close enough that he could catch him should he start to fall, but far enough to give him the space he seems to want.
“You were about to collapse, Abolish. You are so stubborn, and you never would’ve agreed to go to sleep willingly,” Scott says with a huff.
“Just leave me alone, Scott. I should’ve known to stay away from you,” Abolish says, pushing off from the wall and stumbling towards the door.
“I wouldn’t go out there if I were you,” Scott calls from behind him. Abolish turns to look at him in annoyance, swaying slightly with the movement as he gets dizzy from the pain in his head.
“Is that a threat?” Abolish asks.
“No. But Pyro and Owen are out there, and I’m assuming they’re very hungry. And you can barely stand up on your own. If they see you, the most dangerous human, the only one they’re actually afraid of, stumbling weakly out of my room, they’re likely to pounce. Take you out while you’re vulnerable,” Scott says with a slightly smug grin.
“Then I’ll go out the window,” Abolish huffs, turning around, almost falling over in the process, wincing as the movement aggravates his head further.
“You can barely make it across the room, you’re not going to be able to climb out the window and down to the ground,” Scott says, sitting back down on his bed as he watches Abolish attempt to make it to the window.
“I can at least try,” Abolish grumbles as he pulls open the curtains. The sun that streams through makes him squint as the light worsens his headache, and it’s all he can do to not pass out from pain.
“Okay, nope, you’re not going anywhere until the side effects of the venom have worn off,” Scott says with a sigh, walking over to Abolish and reaching past him to close the curtains.
The vampire seems to ignore the way the sun makes whatever skin he has visible sizzle. Abolish huffs, watching in annoyance as every little burn starts to heal, a bit slower than a vampire would normally heal due to the fact that Scott hasn’t had any blood to drink in a little while. Abolish hates the way he almost offers his own blood up like he did back when Scott was in his bed after the snowstorm.
Scott lightly grabs onto Abolish’s elbow, steadying the man before leading him back over to the bed, forcing him to sit down. Abolish glares at him, not bothering to protest simply because having Scott’s hands on him makes the pain of the headache dull slightly.
An insistent knock sounds on Scott’s bedroom door, and both men turn to look at it.
“Scott! Are you in there?” Shelby calls from the other side of the door.
“Yes, dear, what do you need?” Scott asks, raising his voice just enough for Shelby to hear him.
“Can I come in?” Shelby asks in response. Scott looks between the door and Abolish, hesitating. Abolish shakes his head, not in the mood to deal with the easily excitable fledgling. Scott grins at Abolish’s expression and turns back to the door.
“Of course, darling,” Scott calls back, smirking as she opens the door and steps inside. Her gaze falls on Abolish and Scott, seeing the way Scott’s hands are on Abolish’s shoulders, and she grins excitedly, bouncing slightly in place.
“Owen was telling the truth! Oh my gods, are you two together? Ooh, Scott, are you going to turn him? Drift was telling me what M told her about how Legs told him that you two are sleeping together, but I didn’t believe it. You guys hate each other! But I guess I was wrong. I’ll leave you two to it!” Shelby says, her grin widening. She quickly exits the room, closing the door behind her.
“I’m going to stab you,” Abolish says with a sigh, glaring at Scott.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time, Abolish,” Scott responds with a smirk, winking playfully at Abolish as he sits down beside the human. Abolish rolls his eyes, wincing slightly when the action makes his head hurt even more. His body subconsciously shifts closer to Scott to try and ease the pain. Scott notices, the already present smirk on his face growing considerably as he takes in the action.
Abolish stiffens as he feels one of Scott’s arms wrap around his shoulders, pulling him against the vampire. He wants to protest, but the proximity to the vampire lessens his headache enough that he lets himself relax slightly against Scott. Scott seems surprised by the lack of a dagger being put somewhere in his body, though he quickly recovers his composure. He smirks and shifts to lean against the headboard of the bed, pulling Abolish against his chest, practically putting the human in his lap. He leans closer to Abolish, brushing his lips against the human’s ear, sending a shiver down Abolish’s spine.
“Being close to me helps, doesn’t it?” Scott murmurs smugly.
“You know how your venom works. Until it fully wears off, I need to be near you,” Abolish huffs.
“I know, I just like hearing you say you need to be near me,” Scott smirks. Abolish’s breath hitches as he feels Scott nip at his ear, and he can’t stop himself from flushing slightly. Scott chuckles softly, realising that he managed to fluster the normally very stoic human. “You’re adorable when you’re flustered, Abolish.”
“I’m not adorable,” Abolish says, turning his head to try and hide his pink cheeks. Scott just smirks and leans closer, pressing a soft kiss to Abolish’s neck, right over one of the older bite marks. Abolish’s breath hitches again, and he subconsciously tilts his head to give Scott more access to his neck. “And I’m still mad at you.”
“Well, I can make it up to you, can’t I?” Scott asks, his lips brushing Abolish’s neck with each word. Abolish shivers, instinctively leaning more into Scott’s touch despite his attempts to stay mad at the manipulative vampire. “We might as well spend the time we’re forced to stay together doing something fun rather than just sitting here in awkward silence.”
“I’m happy with awkward silence,” Abolish mutters. Scott kisses and lightly nips at a spot on Abolish’s neck that he found out was sensitive during the time they spent together five days prior. Abolish’s eyes flutter shut and he melts into Scott’s grip, helpless against the affectionate assault on his neck. “And I’m only letting you do this because it helps with the side effects of the venom.”
“Whatever you say, darling,” Scott murmurs against Abolish’s neck with a smirk. “But I happen to know exactly what makes you react.”
Abolish turns, and despite his headache, he manages to get on top of Scott in a second, holding the vampire’s wrists above his head and straddling him to keep him pinned to the bed. Scott raises an eyebrow in amusement and surprise, testing Abolish’s grip on his wrists and finding that he is unable to free himself.
“I’m impressed, Abolish, but if you wanted to be on top of me, you could’ve just asked,” Scott says with a smirk. “I mean, I’m not complaini-”
Abolish cuts him off by crashing their lips together in a rough, desperate kiss. Scott lets out a small noise of surprise, caught off guard by the human’s actions, before returning the kiss with just as much desperation and enthusiasm. Abolish nips at Scott’s bottom lip roughly enough to draw blood. The vampire parts his lips in surprise, letting Abolish deepen the kiss.
Abolish finally pulls away to breathe, letting go of Scott’s wrists. They both breathe heavily despite Scott not needing oxygen, their lips red from Scott’s blood and the rough kiss itself. Abolish stays seated on top of Scott as they stare at each other in silence for a moment, until Scott finally opens his mouth to speak.
“Well, that was unexpected. Very enjoyable, though,” Scott says, a smug look appearing on his face.
Abolish hears a squeak from the doorway, and both him and Scott turn to look, seeing Shelby, who came back unnoticed while they were kissing.
“Oh my goodness. I have to go tell Drift and M!” Shelby squeals, turning into a bat and flying away before Scott or Abolish can say anything.
“Well fuck,” Abolish mutters under his breath. “I’m never going to live this down.”
“You could always come stay here with me,” Scott says with an amused smirk, clearly unbothered by the idea of Shelby gossiping. He rests his hands on Abolish’s thighs and gives the human a flirtatious wink.
“Absolutely not. While I don’t want to deal with the other humans knowing about whatever this is, I would rather that than dealing with you and your little coven,” Abolish huffs, trying to ignore the way Scott’s thumbs trace enticing circles on his thighs. He realises that his headache is almost entirely gone. During the time he spent distracted by Scott’s soft lips, the venom mostly wore off.
He quickly climbs off of Scott, walking over to the closet. He pulls on his boots and puts on his suit jacket before walking over to the window. He shoves the curtains to the side and pushes the window open, hoisting himself over the edge. Scott’s amused smirk falters as Abolish actually starts to climb down the side of the castle.
“For the love of- Abolish!” Scott calls, rushing to the window and peering out, ignoring the sunlight that starts to burn him slowly. Abolish scales down the side of the wall with ease, making it to the ground in a short amount of time, even with the snow in the cracks of the stone making it slippery. He dusts off his clothing and glances up at Scott, who stares down at him in shock, relief, and annoyance.
Abolish gives Scott a smug little wave before turning to walk towards the decrepit bridge, starting to make his way back to town. He resists the urge to look back and see if Scott is still watching him, though his face flushes and he leans against a tree as soon as he knows that he’s out of the vampire’s view.
Morcant’s going to kill him if he finds out about this.
