Chapter Text

4 weeks later

Jugheads knee bounced nervously as he took a moment to process the words registering in his brain. The room was silent. Filled with the uncertainty that was his life ahead of this very moment. The smell of old licked toffee sticking to his nostrils.

“Again I’m so sorry this happened Mr Jones. In my 25 years of practice in fertility experimentation this has never happened before I can assure you,” The apologetic doctor rambled, wiping away the nervous sweat that had formed above his uni-brow.

“Yeah well your assurance means fuck all to me right now,” Jughead grumbled back, his eyes fixed on a particular scratch in the mahogany wood of the over sized desk that sat in front of him. Letting his mind wander to the events that would have led to its forthcoming. Anything to take his mind off the current situation.

“Of course yes. But when you look at the bigger picture it’s not really our fault,” the doctor continued.

“Not your fault,” Jughead repeated spitefully, completely at a loss for words. His body rigid and frozen in his seat. Unable to remember know if he had burned the scratch into the desk with the rage that was burning out of his eyes or if it was there before he got here.

“No and did I tell you we are willing to give you an extra 7000 dollars in compensation.”

It sounded like bribery to him. Much less compensation and much more like hush money so he wouldn’t sue them for malpractice or anything else he wanted.

“So let me get this straight,” Jughead finally looked up, clearing his throat, trying to stop himself from saying something that would make everything worse. “Another doctor who works in this building accidentally used my - sample- ,” He swallowed thickly not wanting to use the word sperm, making him feel personally connected to the incident.

“Yes,” the doctor nodded solemnly.

“And accidentally artificially inseminated someone with it?”

The doctor nodded again, his head hanging low in shame.

“This is fucked,” Jughead scoffed in disgust, leaning back in his chair, rubbing his hands over his face. “Were they high? Or drunk?” The only explanations Jughead could think of that could contribute to the small possibility of this happening in the first place.

“Is this 7 grand supposed to make everything better?”

“We are so sorry Mr Jones and we understand if you want to take things further to court.”

Jughead murdered the small shaky man before him with his eyes. Staring at him with such revulsion it made him sick but eventually his answer was no.

“I'm not going to waste anymore of my time with you. I should have never participated in this so called experiment in the first place.”

Jughead watched as the doctor suddenly sighed in relief, his whole body relaxing in an instant as the threat of legal action vanished like all Jugheads money on a lawyer if he were to take action.

“Well there’s an 80% chance that nothing will come of this anyway it's always unlikely especially the first go that she would get pregnant and have a baby,” the doctor said so casually brushing the issue aside like dust under a rug.

Jughead hadn't even thought of that side of things yet. It wasn’t just him mixed up in this accident and the seriousness of it all finally hit him hard. Starting to work himself up into a frightful panic Jughead stood abruptly needing some fresh air and a smoke. Not sure if he was going to vomit or kill Sweet Pea when he got home.

“One more thing Mr Jones,” the doctor quickly spoke surprised at Jugheads sudden retreat.

“This is your compensation cheque along with your medical records we had of you here and a few other things.” The old man placed a file and a white envelope on the desk and slid it across to Jughead like he was handling blood money and didn’t want to touch it.

“It’s also our legal obligation to give you this-” he paused wide eyed and nervous once more, this time holding out a yellow manilla folder for Jughead to take.

“What is it?” Jughead asked confused as he tucked the check into his jacket pocket and folded the remaining pieces of paper and crumbled them in to his other pocket.

“It’s the details of your sperm recipient,” He replied quietly slightly afraid of Jugheads next reaction.

Jughead almost lost all strength in his arm as he went to grasp the folder, not wanting to hold the weight of such important details in his hand. He didn’t even know what to do with it but as his grip tightened and he took it from the doctors hold he knew it was all up to him now. To deal with everything or not deal with it at all.

“Does she know?” Jughead all but whispered.

“I don't know. I only take care of this side of things it's up to her doctor to tell her what happened.”

“Of course,” Jughead scoffed bitterly rolling his eyes in fury, before turning and marching right out that horrible office. Walking down two long corridors and past all the unsuspecting patients in the waiting room Jughead could twisted his face into an uncomfortable expression as he finally breathed fresh air.

He could smell something and he knew it was him.

He was in deep shit.

-----

Sweet Pea heard him before he saw him.

An outrageous smash of tools and metal hitting the floor followed by a symphony of cursing and yelling filled riverdale motors that afternoon. Sweet Pea didn’t want to roll out from under the car he was working on from fear Jughead foul mood. Knowing it was safer to stay well away.

But when he heard a crack that sounded more like bone than anything else Sweet Pea swiftly ejected himself from under an old BMW and sprang to his feet. Looking across the garage and past the wave of destruction hurricane Jones had left in his wake he found the man himself. Clutching his right fist in his other hand and bending over in agony, the wall definitely looked better than he did.

“The hell’s wrong with you?” Sweet Pea shouted, shaking his head,“You idiot.”

Jughead was now shaking out of rage and pure agony. His hand was throbbing so badly he was sure it was going to explode just like he was.

But through all the pain Jughead couldn’t even muster a fighting word to bite back at Sweet Pea. Instead with a wicked scowl he side eyed his so called friend and raised his middle finger in revulsion.

This was all his fault.

He was the IDIOT.

The site of Sweet Pea made Jughead sick or maybe that was just the stabbing pain in his hand. Either way the office was where Jughead decided to spend the rest of the afternoon.

Alone with his pain, thoughts and mountains of tax invoices he needed to sort.

Dropping himself into the soft desk chair that was far more comfortable than the office chair he sat in hours earlier Jughead tried to calm down. Still holding his hand in torturous pain it almost help him forget the morning he had just had.

He threw the unwanted and heavy manilla folder he had carried all the way from the doctor's office in the far corner under as many sheets of paper he could find. Out of sight out of mind. Surprised at himself that he didn’t burn it with his cigarette lighter or throw it in the trash.

Jughead couldn’t escape the fact that he was a tiny bit curious. Temptation is a horrible thing and no matter how hard he tried to think about part ordering and invoice payments nothing could stop the little voice in his head.

Should I look at the name?

Do I have a responsibility to contact her?

What if the 20% was me and I become a dad?

What if she is married or old or poor and can’t support a baby?

He was driving himself mad with uncertainty. Going around and around in circles.

But what's in a name?

It wouldn't tell him anything specific it couldn't hurt. It’s merely a word strung together with a series of letter. Finally reaching for the folder reasoning that getting it over and done with will help him feel less stressed Jughead opened it. Rifling through the pages he realised most of it was unnecessary legal documents that made the folder look alot more important than it was. He skimmed most of the pages only finding complex legal jargon and something about a second party.

Nothing specific to anyone else except him.

With a heavy and slightly relieved sigh Jughead let the pages fall from the folder into the trash can. Letting the paper fall away like his worry.

Maybe not knowing was better.

“Ignorance is bliss right?” He thought to himself as he leaned down and grabbed his PB&J sandwich from the mini fridge and placed it on his hand which was now turning a brilliant purple. His sandwich had another purpose today.

About to rest back in his chair and nurse his injury Jughead noticed a pink sticky note under his desk. Immediately confused by this as all their office sticky notes were yellow thanks to Sweet Pea and his “pink hating” ways Jughead picked it up.

The writing was smeared with what smelt like toffee and seemed as though a preschooler had just learned how to write. But amongst all that chicken scratch was one word. One name and one phone number.

DONEE

BETTY COOPER
555 437 090

Jughead could feel his entire body going into organ failure as he sat rigid in his chair, staring at the so called harmless name that he so naively thought would bring him no harm. He couldn’t breath. He couldn’t think. He couldn’t move. Dieing from horror.

“Jughead!” Sweet pea’s voice suddenly rumbled into the office shaking him slightly eliciting more fear into his blood.

“There’s a Betty Cooper here to see you.”

Jugheads eyes snapped up to the window and looked out from the office in unadulterated panic.

Holy shit was this really happening right now?

His heart was beating out of his chest for a whole other reason know. On any other day he would be quietly ecstatic that a girl like Betty was here to see him but definitely not today. Scrunching the sticky note into a small ball and shoving it into his pocket Jughead frantically paced the three meter office cursing Sweet Pea for saying he was here.

I can’t go out there. I can’t see her.
What do I say?
Fuck ! What if she’s here because she knows !!

Taking another careful look out the office window he could see Sweet Pea wearing his flirty smile and talking to a dark haired woman but no Betty.

Maybe there were three Betty Coopers in this world Jughead blindly reasoned with himself trying to calm down. At this stage he was willing to think anything other than the truth.

The girl whose car I fixed. The girl who might be having my baby and the girl whose here to see me now.

Deciding to play it cool and quietly go out to see who was there Jughead left the safety of his office. If the worst really was about to happen Jughead definitely knew he would faint before hearing another piece of bad news.

But who was he kidding. There was only one Betty Cooper in this world and she was walking towards him in all her beauty. She was even more stunning than the first time they met. Her hair in soft waves. Her eyes glowing with joy and her smile, still the only smile that could make Jughead speechless.

Swallowing thickly Jughead managed a shaky smile and a small wave as he approached her. Wanting nothing more than to be smooth and sexy but instead his early morning renegades ruining his James Bond fantasy. Tucking his suspected broken hand into his pocket, wincing as he held it steady he suddenly felt very self conscious. Not wearing his normal dirty work clothes meant that Betty could see a different side of him. His leather jacket and heavy combat boots protected him from more than just mother nature but also acting as a hard exterior for a broken boy.

Intimidation, brooding and his bad boy attitude were his aesthetic and he just hoped it didn’t scare her off.

“Hey Betty,” Jughead spoke swallowing nervously again, “Is everything okay with your car?” The only thing he could think of that was a reason for her to be here.

“Yeah Jughead Hi,” Betty smiled shyly tucking some stray hair behind her ear, “I ummm…. just wanted to come by and say thank you for fixing it,” She came to a stop inches from his face, looking him up and down before fidgeting with her woollen jumper.

“You weren't here when I collected it the other day and I just wanted to thank you again.” Her soft genuine voice the only thing on his mind. Mesmerised by the fact that she was purely here just to see him and thank him for just doing his job, Jughead swore he was hallucinating.

Betty Cooper clearly had no idea of the catastrophic fuck up that had happened, coincidentally involving both of them, and Jughead had absolute no idea what to do. Other than standing there blankly, he was at a loss.

Should I say something?
How does someone even begin that sentence?

She was so beautiful he couldn’t even imagine her genes mixed with his. Jughead couldn’t help but let his eyes traveled down to her stomach where her hands were nervously fidgeting.

What if there was a baby in there right now !?

Jughead wanted to be sick and he could tell that his frown and awkward expression was making Betty very uncomfortable.

“It was no trouble. Just doing my job,” he managed after a good minute of silence. Definitely not the reaction Betty was hoping for.

“Well um anyway I ….” Betty started awkwardly before she was interrupted by a loud crash behind them.

Both of them immediately jumping and looking around Jughead watched as Betty ran over to the clutter where two little children stood.

“Woody! Juni! I told you not to touch anything,” she scolded st the twins kneeling down to them and cleaning off the dust that had settled on their clothes. Jughead didn’t even move from his spot, standing there in more shock than ever before. Watching Betty mother these two kids was making everything so much worse.

“Veronica I asked you to watch them,” Betty grumbled annoyed at her best friend as she stood back up wondering where she was.

“Veronica?” Looking around the shop curiously Betty spotted her flirting with Sweet Pea and rolled her eyes. Of course.

Grabbing the twins hands and holding them close to her so they couldn’t run away Betty brought them with her over to Jughead.

“Sorry Jughead I thought my friend Veronica was watching them.”

“It's fine. No harm,” Jughead replied coldly staring at the kids. They looked a lot like Betty, except for the strawberry blond hair.

Did she already have kids?
Oh God this just keeps getting worse!

“They can be quite a handful sometimes,” Betty jokes trying to fill the awkward silence, “That’s probably why my sister leaves them with me all the time.”

“Ahhhhh,” Jughead nodded his head in understanding still unable to function normally. Not her kids. Well that’s one positive. He knew his behaviour was scaring her off he could definitely tell but considering what he knew and she didn’t he couldn’t stand to be near her at this point.

“Anyway I also came here to ask you if you wanted……”

Jughead tuned out as soon as he realised what she was really doing here. He couldn’t even comprehend the words that floated into his brain. Betty wasn’t here just to thank him no no that was too simple.

How did I not see it? Jughead kicked himself.

She was here to ask him out.

Under any other circumstances this would be a god send. An unbelievable miracle that someone like Betty Cooper fancied him but today of all days was the worst timing ever. God how he wanted to say YES.

YES YES YES.

She was his the woman who lived in his dreams every night and Jughead wanted that to become his reality.

But what if Betty found out he knew before she did and didn’t say anything. What if she hates him for it. There were so many things wrong with this whole situation and going against his better judgement Jughead did the one thing he didn’t want to do.

“Jughead?” Betty looked at him confused waiting for his answer.

“Hmm sorry what?”

“I just asked if I could buy you a coffee some time?” She asked again slightly dieing inside. The two children either side of her nagging and fighting not helping the situation one bit.

“There’s really no need Betty,” Jughead tried to let her go easily. The words tasting of foul poison as he spoke them.

“I know but I - I want to,” she spoke just above a whisper, trailing off at the end of the sentence. His disinterest in her suddenly becoming very obvious.

“I’m kinda swamped with work right now,” Jughead looked to his office in an attempt not to see Betty’s hurt and saddened expression. He was hurting her and he hated himself for it.

But stuff work yes I’ll get coffee with you! He wanted to scream regretting his actions.

“Right of course sure,” Betty spoke quickly turning bright red, “I didn't mean …. It’s fine whatever… It was silly of me.” Turning quickly Betty almost ran into a workbench as she tried to get out of there as fast as she could. Jughead wanting to go and dig his own grave at the thought of what he had just done.

“Thanks again,” She said over her shoulder, looking but not looking at him as she tried to act cool. Failing miserably.

“Come on V were going,” Betty said as she walked straight past her friend and out of the shop. Not wanting to spend another minute floundering in humiliation. She couldn’t believe how wrong she was about Jughead. Betty swore they had a connection the first time they met.

Was it all in her head?

She could still feel his eyes on her as she put the twins into their car seats. His dark stare doing things to her that she couldn’t control.

“Dude that chic was hot! And I got her number,” Sweet Pea gushed proud as punch, walking over to Jughead who was still shaking from what he had just done.

“What did the blond want? Something wrong with the car?”

“No she asked me out,” Jughead replied monotone still staring at the empty space of where Betty’s car was just parked.

“Shit you said yes right?”

“I …..” He stammered wishing he hadn’t just let her leave here believing he didn’t like her.

“What the actual fuck Jughead. Your such a weirdo. How were you not turned on the second they walked in here?” Sweet pea scoffed in utter bewilderment.

“Just fuck off Sweet Pea I’m never taking your advice ever again your a complete asshole,” Jugehad snapped suddenly, his rage back and worse than before. Remembering he was mad at this idiot but more importantly now he was furious with himself.

------

“He said no?” Veronica repeated shocked at what Betty had just told her, “What the hell is wrong with him?” Veronica frowned in distaste.

Betty said nothing as she and Veronica walked the hallways of the shopping mall after dropping her niece and nephew off at the kids play area.

“Stuff him don't even worry you were way out of his league anyway. He looked like a hobo.”

“No he didn't,” Betty defended, replaying the image of him over and over in her mind like a blockbuster film.

Seeing him in all black and a leather jacket with his hair swooped back in a perfectly hand combed fashion was something Betty never knew she needed until today. He turned her on to know end and it made her instantly hot and bothered. But know there was the added touch of rejection that loomed over his sexy aura that made betty frightfully sad.

“Is there something wrong with me?” Betty moped sadly.

“Betty no god don’t even think that. Your hot as fuck Okay? Forget him. Lets just max out my credit card and enjoy our afternoon,” Veronica encouraged linking arms with her best friend.

“I don’t know V I’m not in the mood for shopping anymore I’m feeling a bit off. I think ill just get the kids and head home.” Rubbing her face Betty groaned as she could feel a migraine setting in. She didn’t know what was wrong with herself laty. Dizzy spells, body aches, zero energy and oddly enough and increased sense of smell and today was no different.

“No no you are not leaving me.” Veronica’s grip suddenly tightened around Betty's arm. “We haven't hung out in ages. I miss you now come on let’s go into Victoria secret and buy some sexy underwear to make ourselves feel better.”

Make you feel better more like Betty mumbled under her breath as Veronica dragged her into the store. Although truth be told Betty did need cheering up or a distraction at the least.

Especially after her embarrassing and very awkward encounter with Jughead. He was acting so weird. Almost like a different person. He didn’t once look her in the eye, constantly fidgeted with the sleeve of his jacket and kept looking at her stomach making Betty feel frightfully self conscious.

Oh My God ! Did he think I was Fat? Betty suddenly thought, the very idea tearing away at her self confidence. She had been unusually hungry the past week eating way to much chocolate than any person should.

Feeling very foolish Betty sighed sadly gripping tighter to Veronica's arm for moral support. She really thought Jughead was into her. There was no doubt that Betty hadn’t stopped thinking about him since they first met. There was such a magnetic, outer body, euphoric connection between then that she swore both of them felt. It pulled them together, lighting their skin on fire every time they accidentally touched.

And she felt the exact same today. Instantly melting into a pile of mush at the sight of Jughead in normal clean cloths. He looked like sex on a stick in his leather black jacket and swooped back hair, it took every ounce of her not to make out with him on the spot. But at the same time, she wasn’t sure if it was just her wishful thinking or she really was seeing Jughead fight with himself not to stand closer to her. As though he really did want to close the distance between them but instead was at war with himself.

It confused the hell out of Betty and she could feel her head ache growing into a migraine the more the thought about it. Not to mention she was still dealing with the fall out of the bombshell her mom dropped on her and Polly at dinner the other week. Even though it had almost been a month since the news had come out Betty still couldn’t and didn’t want to believe it. Her father was away on business for the month so her and Polly had decided to tackle it when he came home which turned out to be at the end of the week and Betty was dreading it.

So to say Betty Cooper needed a distraction was the understatement of the century.

But with a best friend like Veronica Lodge support was never far away. They had been inseparable since high school and always had each others backs. Albeit Veronica sometimes stole the spotlight from Betty and was a bit self absorbed, throwing around her dad’s money all the time, Betty didn’t mind. They were sisters through thick and thin. Even when Veronica started dating Reggie Mantle a guy who Betty distastes with a passion they still found time for each other.

Five clothing stores later Betty didn't feel any better. Like the popular saying “shop till you drop” Betty was ready to drop to the floor, feeling terribly sick to her stomach.

“So what do you think?” Veronica asked Betty as she twirled in a sparkly deep blue dress that looked like it belonged back at Victoria's Secret with all the other lingerie .

“What's it for again?” Betty asked from one of the lounge chairs she was sitting on, in the very fancy evening wear shop.

“Come on B my Dad’s state dinner remember. Senator, Congress ringing any bells? And we have to find a dress for you to cause your coming !! Daddy said I can bring friends.” Veronica eyes herself up and down in the floor length mirror looking very pleased with herself.

“Then that one has to much boob,” Betty said bluntly, blinking slowly trying to feel less dizzy. Resting her head in her hands, really not interested in anymore shopping at this point.

“Yeah you’re probably right, but I’ll buy it any. Reggie asked me to the LAB Restaurant this weekend so this will be perfect,” Veronica replied smiling, not bothered by Bettys opinion or current condition. To busy eyeing the mirror to notice.

“Okay I'll be back. I have four more to try on.” Betty watched as Her best friend retreated back into the change room. God !- she thought how much longer was this going to take?

Taking some deep breaths Betty got up and began to walk around the room, trying to ignore the horrible feeling in her head and stomach.

In and out.

In and out.

But not even that could stop the sudden beads of sweat dripping from her face, the loud ringing in her ears and the almighty impending doom feeling that made her eyes blur with senselessness.

“What do you think of this one? I think it's the one,” Veronica suddenly appeared in a new dress. Her hands on her hips with pride.

“I think I'm going to faint,” Betty whispered swaying unsteadily in her spot.

“Aww B your so sweet.”

“No really Veronica I……”

Darkness was all that consumed the end of Betty’s sentence as she dropped to the floor.

--------

“And she's back,” the doctor said as he waved his hand in front of Betty’s eyes.

Betty woke to the sound of a busselling ED department. People yelling, machines beeping and sirens wailing disorientating her even more as she emerged from the darkness. Opening her eyes in a flutter Betty slowly regained her sight, groaning at how cold and sore she felt. Her head ache still pounding away in her head but slightly better than before.

“BETTY !! OH MY GOD. BETTY THANK GOD.” Veronica was suddenly beside her bed in hysterics clutching onto her hand. A death tight grip if Betty had ever felt one.

“Veronica - What - What happened?” Betty mumbled for the first time in almost 2 hours her mouth completely dry.

“You really did fainted Betty. We thought you were okay but then you vomited and passed out again and I rushed you here. You scared the shit out of me.”

“Woody and Juni!” Betty suddenly remembered sitting up abruptly in a panic. But regretted her haste immediately seeing the room spin around her.

“Wow wow lay back down there Miss Cooper,” the doctor soothed placing a hand on her shoulder guiding her back down.

“They’re with your mum in the waiting room don’t worry B. Everything is okay.” Veronica gave her friend a reassuring smile as Betty’s eyes finally opened normally feeling a lot better.

“So Miss Cooper,” the doctor interrupted before Betty had a chance to ask her next question.

“How are you feeling now?”

“Better I suppose,” she replied quietly giving the doctor a small smile. Wriggling to sit up Betty really did feel better. She saw a cup of water on the table and Veronica passed it to her instantly clenching her thrust. Looking around the room noticing she was connected to a drip Betty had so many questions. She could feel her anxiety setting in and the butterflies in her stomach working up an almighty panic.

Her health had always been in top condition. Always watching what she ate, exercising regularly and taking her meds as normal. Her mind flew to all kinds of drastic thoughts making her eyes go wide in fear.

Did she have cancer?
Was this is? Was she dying?

The doctor flashed a light in her eyes and asked her a bunch of silly questions before he smiled and wrote some notes in his little black book.

“You seem to be recovering well which is great.”

“What’s wrong with me?” Betty asked squeezing Veronica’s hand even tighter than she was. But both of them ignoring the pain and staring at the unsuspecting doctor with concerned eyes.

“We took some blood and ran a few tests just to be certain but this is a common occurrence with early stage pregnancies. Your blood sugar dipped really low and caused the nausea and vomiting spells. I wouldn't ...”

“I'm sorry,” Betty cut him off mid sentence waving her arms in front of him,“What did you say!?”

“Your pregnant,” He repeated seriously, looking her dead in the eye.

Both Betty and Veronica instantly burst out laughing. It was absolutely hilarious to them that this was happening right now because it just couldn’t be. There was no way.

“I'm not pregnant the test is wrong,” Betty giggled to the doctor looking back to Veronica and shaking her head at the absurdness.

“We did a blood test and they are of the highest accuracy,” the doctor replied, causing small amounts of panic to course through Betty’s veins once more. Her smile was fading as his serious expression never wavered.

“Betty did you have sex and not tell me?” Veronica whisper yelled way too loud in front of the doctor making Betty blush. But when she thought about it being a virgin was nothing to be embarrassed about.

“No No,” Betty looked to Veronica and back to the doctor, “I'm a virgin it must be wrong,” she said confidently. That she was 100% sure about.

“False positives are very rare when it comes to blood results like a 0.1% percent chance Miss Cooper.”

“Well it’s wrong trust me,” Betty replied forcefully getting annoyed that this man was still insisting he was right.

“Maybe we should talk in private,” he insisted slowly side eyeing Veronica. But this gesture to cut her out was the last straw. Making her lose it.

“Where did yo get your degree the school of dumb assery? If my best friend says shes a virgin she’s a virgin. So do another damn test!” Veronica snarled.

She could always be persuasive in more ways than one. Her death stare being enough this time for the doctor to shy away and agree to do another blood and urine test to be absolutely sure. Betty not even hesitating to squash this problem as soon as she could.

“Pink means pregnant,” he explained to Betty as she sat on that uncomfortable bed 6 minutes later watching him dip the stick into her pee.

Betty was dumbfounded this was even happening to her, she didn’t understand, she hadn’t had sex! Obviously she would remember.

But as the doctor pulled the little blue strip out of that pee jar it was indeed the brightest pink she had ever seen. Like it was deliberately bright to rub it in.

“But I’ve never had sex!” Betty yelled unable to control herself.

“Oh my god, what is happening?!” Veronica yelled shocked. Making the people in the next cubicle turn their heads.

“My friend is an angel from God.”

“Ssshhh,” Betty hissed viciously at her friend, feeling like she was going to again.

“Have you been under the influence recently, maybe you don't remember?”

This time it was Betty’s turn to complete lose it.

“Excuse me!! How dare you suggest Such a thing.”

As veronica started chanting hymns and prayers in Spanish just as her grandmother had taught her to do at a time like this. At a time when miracles were among us. Betty let all her shock, rage and frustration out on that first year intern doctor.

There was just no way she was pregnant

No way
