Chapter Text

Tooru considered himself pretty ripped, despite what the artstyle change would have you believe. Also his arms were literally rock hard. So he was surprised at how exhausted he got lugging Babyface back to the house. Tooru guessed that it had some kind of range, despite literally just being a weird laptop. That seemed like the reason it felt way heavier than it had been at the beginning. Or maybe it was because it wouldn’t shut up.

“Where am I? Why can’t I move? Where are you taking me?” a tinny voice asked from Babyface’s speakers.

“You’re fine, just be quiet. I’ll explain everything soon,” Tooru replied through his heavy breathing. No way he was gonna give up the chance to monologue to a captive audience. He just needed to sit down first. And the house was just a few blocks away.

“Answer me you son of a bitch before I figure out some way to get my hands on you,” the voice threatened.

“I haven’t figured out how Melone gave this thing arms and legs yet, just give me a minute,” Tooru said. He stopped to get a better grip on Babyface and casually pressed a few keys on the keyboard. When nothing happened, Tooru just slapped the side of Babyface. A set of purple arms and legs sprouted immediately and Babyface jumped out of Tooru’s hands.

    “That hurt,” the voice said.

“You can feel pain?” Tooru asked.

    “I’m a person, aren’t I? You asshole.”

“Well you see, you’re really not. Not anymore. I think you should sit down, if you can,” Tooru said, pointing to a pair of convenient flat rocks beside them, “and let me explain.”

“What did that son of a bitch do to me? What did you do to me?”

Tooru shrugged. “It’s a long story,” he said, sitting on one of the rocks. Babyface followed him, stumbling like it wasn’t used to its new limbs. It didn’t really sit on the rock either, it just kind of placed its main laptop body on the rock and splayed out all its limbs. “So I guess I’ll just start, but first off… Do you prefer Wes or Weather?”

The voice didn’t answer for a few minutes. “Wes,” he said quietly.

“Okay, Wes,” Tooru said. “So the good news is, you’re alive. See, Pucci took your memories and stored them in a disc. You’re that memory disc, which I inserted into a computer. But there was another disc, your Stand disc, which Pucci left in your body. Which is why if you’re trying to electrocute me it's not working. So now there’s two of you.”

“You put me in a computer? That’s… that’s not living, take me out. Now,” Wes demanded.

“Of course you’re alive. You have your memories.”

Wes sprung at Tooru’s face like a frog, smashing Babyface’s bulk into him and narrowly avoiding crushing Formaggio. Wes used Babyface’s limbs as well as he could to pummel Tooru, who was regretting that the one time he deactivated Wonder of U because he was too tired was when a now sentient laptop was trying to beat him to death.

“Take me out of here or I’m going to fucking kill you!” Wes shouted with every punch and kick. It was loud enough that screaming feedback started pouring out of the speakers and overlapping with Wes’ screaming in a cacophony of unbridled rage.

“Don’t you want revenge first?” Tooru shouted, hoping he wasn’t drowned out. He scrambled for Babyface’s handles, hoping to get enough leverage to shove it off of him.

Wes stopped beating Tooru’s ass for a second. “Did you say revenge?” he asked.

“Why do you think I put you in a computer in the first place?” Tooru asked. He saw his opportunity and grabbed Babyface’s handle, violently flipping Wes on his back like a turtle. Wes flailed his new limbs and uselessly tried and failed to rock side to side.

“Why would I help you get revenge?” Wes asked angrily.

“You’ve got it wrong. I’m here to help you get revenge,” Tooru explained.

“By fucking me over like this?”

“The computer situation is likely temporary. And I thought it would be fun and make my plans overcomplicated. Which is important. Do we have a deal?”

“Can you help me up first?”

“We can’t shake on it if I don’t,” Tooru said, holding out a hand. Not that Wes could really see it, since his screen - presumably analogous to his eyes - were pointed at the sky.

“Fine. Whatever. But when this is over, I need you to do one thing for me.”

    “What?”

“Just let me die. Completely this time, I’m tired of the half measures. You and my brother, you’ve both half assed it,” Wes said. He sounded more tired than anything else.

Tooru paused. “I can do that.”

“Then take me to my brother.”
