Chapter Text
“I already tried this one, David. Why do I need to try it again?”
“I’m just saying, your original review was biased and I know how important it is to you that your data are accurate.”
“I appreciate your concern for the quality of my data, but this is really not necessary.”
“I just want to know what your real rating is!”
Patrick gives David an upside-down smile.
“Okay, David. If you insist.”
“Thank you,” David says, passing over a mug. Patrick picks it up, takes a sip, and makes a face.
“Was it always this bitter?” he asks.
“Uh, yeah, it’s dark chocolate.” Patrick takes another sip and grimaces again.
“I don’t think I like it, David. Maybe a 5?”
“You gave it a 9.5 before!”
“Well, I was delirious.”
David grins suddenly, his face taking on a very impish look.
“What?” Patrick asks.
“Nothing, I’m just delighted to know that my skills have that much of an effect on you.” David shimmies his shoulders and rubs his hands up and down Patrick’s arms.
“That really shouldn’t come as a shock to you, David.”
“Oh, no, it doesn’t. Just nice to have confirmation,” David replies with a wink. He steals Patrick’s mug and drinks the rest of it.
