Tommy shook his head, blushing even more. “Doesn’t hurt,” he murmured, burying his mouth in the rim of his coffee cup. “Opposite.”
“It feels good?” It was clear that Buck would have to keep this conversation going, Tommy shying away from it like never before.
“Bit too good,” he finally confessed. “I come real easy.”
“Y-yeah?” Buck asked, having to stop himself from asking, You promise?

"I'm ok," Tommy confirms. He rolls back slightly so he can catch Buck's eyes, his own shining golden. "Just." He sighs, closing his eyes again. Tightening his hold on Buck's hand, he draws it down along his body to his lower stomach.
Buck hisses, feeling how hot his skin is there. It's like placing his hand on a hot stove, his skin taut, stomach tense. "What…?"
Tommy moves their hands higher again, curling up more. "I think the wildfires triggered my cycle."Aka the one where Tommy is a dragon and Buck wants to be bred by him.

Summary
It's two weeks after Bobby's funeral that he gets the first postcard. When he pulls it out of his mailbox, he looks at it in disbelief. He feels like he's been spinning his wheels this whole time, wanting to contact Evan, wanting to see how he's doing, but not wanting to get in the way.
So now that there's a postcard with Crater Lake National Park stamped over a picturesque view he can't help that his immediate reaction is 'what does this mean?'
Or: Tommy starts receiving postcards from Buck while he's on a road trip. It starts a whole other trip to reconciliation. Alternately, 5 times Buck sends Tommy a postcard and one time it's Tommy's turn.

Summary
There’s frost on the window planes. Through the sheer curtains David can make out the treetops in their backyard, spindly and bare against the pale blue sky. It looks crisp and cold, and David snuggles further into the comforting heat wrapped around his back, Patrick’s chest firm against him, one of his hands pressed against David’s stomach under his sleep shirt.
“Are you awake?” David whispers.
The answer is groaned into the back of neck and David huffs out a laugh. “No? Guess you don’t want your Christmas present then.”
Another muffled groan.
“What’s that?”
“Said, got your present right here,” he answers with a little thrust.
After a painful and busy end-of-year, David and Patrick take a much needed and well deserved break to reconnect.
