Summary
Aziraphale thinks halos are beautiful, though other angels don't share that sentiment. At first, it's just one more way Aziraphale differs from the rest, but along the way it becomes something more. It turns out Crowley thinks halos are beautiful too.

They didn’t do this very often.
He didn’t need it very often, anymore. The last few years had changed things, had changed him, and all for the better. He’d been soft and grown softer, here in the arms of his beloved.

Summary
There’s a kiss to the top of his head, infinitely gentle in affection, full of love and devotion. There’s the light scratch of well-manicured nails against his scalp, from the crown of his head and all the way back, that leaves him certain he understands why cats tend to purr. There’s a hand linking with his, and the smooth metal of Aziraphale’s wedding band against his own fingers.

Summary
After the apocalypse, Crowley learns to worship in his own way.
-----------------------------------------------------
He wasn’t honestly sure where he was. Well, he knew physically where he was. Physically he was in their cottage on the South Downs, likely tucked into one of the little pocket dimensions they sometimes summoned up when they needed a space that the modest house couldn’t accommodate. Beyond that, he had no idea. Aziraphale had fitted him with a blindfold--touched with Grace, no peeking--before leading him in here and leaving him, and despite his other senses working on overdrive to try and identify the location he was...well. He was in the dark.

Summary
When her heel clicks on the first marble step, the world stops moving.
Above her, turning slowly to look down from on high, is Aziraphale. She’s in a gorgeous deep green floor-length dress, gold embroidery like ribbons trailing down the front. It catches the chandelier light and glitters like emeralds and diamonds. Her hair is in pin curls, pressed close to her forehead and temples. She’s done it with soap, the way the humans do, not a miracle. It’s topped with a brilliant sparkling gold headband nestled just above. Her eyes are lined darkly, making the hazel all the brighter for the contrast. As she turns to Crowley, she smiles.

Summary
They steal away, in these stolen moments in the night. Just the two of them, away from the camp and the other men. They can do what they want, give in to their urges. No witnesses except a few unfortunate horses.
Crowley likes Aziraphale’s hands. They’re coarse and rough from life on the range, worker’s hands. They’re dry and cracked and scratch at his skin when Aziraphale touches him, but the honey is still sweet despite the bee sting. He likes giving Aziraphale control, letting him use him. Likes letting Aziraphale think he’s asleep after; that he doesn’t hear the whispered confessions. No use for the two of them, not in a life like this.

Summary
He’s kneeling on his bed, hemp rope wrapped around his thighs, then looped around his calves, keeping them tight together. This shouldn’t be as comfortable as it is, trussed up like a Christmas goose. He runs his fingers along the rope, taking in the texture of it. The coarse grain under his fingers is soft, softer than he thought it would be. The pad of his finger bumps over the braiding, tight and secure, holding him here.
Aziraphale stands back, no doubt admiring his handiwork. Crowley takes in the sight of himself, the knots and loops that are almost black against his pale skin, monochrome in the low light. They aren’t black, though, but a very deep purple, a match for the silk shirt currently lying discarded next to his trousers in the other corner of the room.

Summary
“I am, never have seen you in all your angelic glory.” Crowley winds his fingers through Aziraphale’s hair aimlessly, grin sliding across his face, “Sounds kind of sexy—ow!”
That earns him a fully undeserved swat on the stomach. “Foul fiend,” Aziraphale says fondly, snuggling deeper into his arms. “We’d have to be careful, of course, but if you want to see my true visage, I think I’d be amenable to that.”
Crowley hooks his finger around Aziraphale’s chin, tilting his head up and catching his gaze. He can’t stop the giddy smile that spreads across his face. “Really, angel?”
“Yes,” Aziraphale says, leaning up to kiss him, “But there are a few things we’ll need to do first.”

Summary
As she gets closer, there’s a strong smell of grapes in the air, the sharp pungency of tannins. The women are treading grapes, smashing them underfoot to ferment wine in the name of Dionysus. They hold each other steady by their arms, grip each other tightly. Aziraphale is mesmerized by it, the way they spin and the familiarity they have with each other. She circles at the outskirts, not wanting to interrupt them, but unable to stop staring.
A flash of crimson catches her eye, a tight but long braid of burnished copper, it catches the firelight and sparks even brighter. She moves in closer, unsure and yet certain. The woman smiles, crinkling the lines in the corner of her eyes, black snake tattoo just visible in the low-light. It’s Crowley. Heavens above, it’s Crowley.

Summary
Sometimes he wonders what it would be like, to slip into bed alongside Aziraphale, to curl up close to him sleeping. These thoughts won’t do, of course. They’ll never have that kind of freedom.
He thinks of Aziraphale’s fingers, quickly and deftly writing lines on the chalkboard. Of the laughter lines that crinkle around his eyes when he smiles. Of the twinkle he gets in his eye when they verbally spar in the classroom, arguing over this bit of history or that bit of science. No one gets Crowley quite like Aziraphale does, no one ever has and no one ever will.

Summary
The breeze stops, windows closed once again. Crowley has the distinct feeling of being appraised. Studied and watched. He straightens his back, letting the ache sink into his spine, roll over his shoulders like a wave on the ocean. He lets out a hiss, feels his tongue go forked whether he wants it to or not.
With his tongue forked, Crowley can better smell the air. The sharp tang of book dust, the spice of vetiver from Aziraphale’s aftershave. He can smell the chemical of the leather polish on Aziraphale’s oxfords, can taste the tang that the iron of his shackles leaves in the air. His vision may be dark, but his remaining senses paint a vivid picture all the same.

Summary
Once every moon cycle, when she was fullest in the sky and shone down with sparkling light, the villagers would turn in early. Would lock their doors and find themselves in a deep sleep. No one would suffer, everyone would wake well rested. Crops would flourish and blessing would be bestowed on everyone.
The only thing asked was that the god not be disturbed.

Summary
“Bless me, Father, for I have sinned…” he starts, internally chastising himself for the crack in his voice.
“Aziraphale? What the hell are you doing here?”
“Don’t—just…let me say what I need to say.” Aziraphale takes a deep breath and starts again. “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been almost a week since my last confession, but there is something weighing heavy on my heart, and I need guidance."

Summary
A glance to the windows of their home finds Aziraphale staring back at her. She’s looking indulgently lazy today, clad in her soft blue bathrobe, blonde curls just dusting her shoulders. It’s far too hot for early mornings and being fully buttoned up, but not too hot to keep Aziraphale away from her tea. Aziraphale waves at her, a question behind it that thrills Crowley deep in her bones.
Slower than she might otherwise, full of anticipation, Crowley waves back.
