Something was sitting at the back of your mind. Not quite sitting, but it was just there, lingering and asking you in a clear, loud voice when it was going to be addressed. You were reminded of it, every time you saw a rounded abdomen, a puppy walking clumsily on its paws, a baby with fat and chubby cheeks laughing at the way a butterfly landed on their nose. You yearned for it, and your chest ached with how much you wanted it. A baby. Your own little star, their gaze shining with genuine wonder for what this world had to offer, its mysteries and secrets.
(Or alternatively titled: Jayce and Viktor think at the very same time that Reader looks very submissive and breedable.)

When Jayce asked me to meet him for lunch, I thought it was a date. That idea is painfully funny now.
I walked into the HexTech lab this morning expecting to spend some time with my boyfriends before heading to my own lab to continue my disease research, like I do every morning. I noticed Jayce’s grimace when I hugged Viktor first–of course I did. Jayce isn’t half as subtle as he thinks he is.
Viktor and I shared a side glance and I smiled, rolling my eyes at Jayce’s antics as I walked across the room and wrapped my arms around his waist.
