What if the signs weren't enough to snap Avery out of the trance?
What if the first time D3rlord3 and Avery met was when he was pulling him out of the lake?
What if Reality was less of a strict plot and more of a loose guideline that the King (and Derek) use as a jump rope?
What if even the King could forget things, and he'd forgotten something big?
You can find all of that here and more!

Picking off EXACTLY where we left off, Avery begins his journey while loosely obeying the rules of this strange book. Only issue is... well... Avery doesn't know his lefts and rights... and no, doing the L thing with your hands doesn't help. So instead of actually listening to the book, he leaves it up to chance!

D3rlord3's in it for love but the King in Yellow takes that to his advantage in trying to regain power over his original vessel. His intentions get lost somewhere along the way…

Summary
Destiny leads people through strange paths. Avery struggles with mourning someone who isn’t dead. That someone just woke up from a months-long coma in a hospital that despite his supposed infinite knowledge he has never heard of. And… something else is in that hospital room with him.
(or, Derek wakes up months after a botched merging with the King in Yellow, and Avery, as usual, searches for him)
