Harry didn’t come in today. Chester and Mack were interrogating a suspect by introducing him to the brick wall of a dark alleyway. Trant was traveling. Judit was on the beat. Jules was taking transmissions from civilians and directing interdepartmental messages. That left poor Jean in charge of manning the fort, which meant fucking desk duty and twiddling his thumbs and doing coke to keep the voices in his head quiet when they were so loud and the office so still.
