"Just one hint," Malevola pleaded. Prism leaned against her chair, eyeing Robert expectantly.
Robert stared at them briefly, deliberating over his response. He settled on honesty. They wouldn't believe him, and they wouldn't be able to link it to his identity as Mecha Man anyway.
"Sure. I can't die."
Prism sighed in frustration. "Oh come on! Don't be like that."

Summary
After losing the Astral Pulse and suffering an explosion from an encounter against the Red Ring, Robert finds himself recovering and recruited by the SDN Phoenix Program to be a dispatcher, particularly for a chance at his mech being repaired for him to get back on the battlefield. During his time there, he finds himself in moments with a bat hybrid named Sonar, who always seems to keep him on his toes.
Sonar, a bat hybrid, had joined the SDN Phoenix Program due to his close friend and sponsor in their NA program, Malevola, who signed the two up. Originally, he didn’t care for a change in his behavior. But after having several unintentional encounters with the Z-Team’s newest dispatcher, Robert Robertson III, things began to become flipped upside down for him, for the better, and the worse.
From trivial matters, to lovesickness, and life-and-death situations, Robert’s life becomes heavily intertwined with Sonar’s own, in more ways than the two could imagined.

Summary
Later in the evening following Shroud’s defeat, Robert and Courtney grab tacos for dinner. Then get up to a bunch of other wholesome activities like meeting the Z team for celebratory drinks and fucking. Things get a little domestic. Mecha Man takes his place at the head of the Z team while the last vestiges of the Red Ring accept a dangerous offer for a chance at revenge. Malevola confronts her past. Visi pushes herself to be more. Robert tries to solve a mystery. Golem learns painful truths.
Post-Canon Epilogue to help cope until s2 formerly titled “embarassing” because it started as a 1shot fluff scene of the same name and morphed into more of my interpretation of the post-canon story.
It’s gotten a bit out of hand with the world building but it’s a lot of fun to write.

So people like me? The average Joe whose granddad wasn’t exposed to experimental radiation or fell into a toxic river, or was born under the star or Orias or something? We’re the soap bubbles. The thin paper people who still get torn, punctured, burned, and broken when not handled with care.
It sucks. But that’s also true of life. So it's not a huge deal.
It just means you have to be smart.
