Summary
Luke leaves the first note on a whim a few weeks later, a rush of impulsivity forcing his fingers to scribble the words across the corner of the page of his journal before tearing off the scrap of paper. He waits for Julie to turn her back on him - muttering darkly about being short as she reaches into the washing machine to retrieve a missing sock - before slipping the note into her washing basket.

p.s. your monster slippers are fucking awesome!or Luke is suffering from a bout of insomnia (and struggling to finish writing the song that has been plaguing him for weeks) when he decides to visit the laundry room at 3am.
