George’s mind was still reeling with all that had happened in the last hour, and now the man was offering him ice cream? He didn't know whether to laugh or scream at the absurdity. “Why exactly would I go and have ice cream with a complete stranger?”“You were just about to jump off a cliff. Ice cream with a stranger is mild in comparison.”
George gave him an unimpressed look.
Max looked at him, and in the next moment, his face changed. There was no hint of a smile there now. And for a moment, George was sure he saw his own pain reflected in Max’s eyes. “Because believe it or not, this stranger also came here in a grip of a weak moment. To do exactly what you came to do.
