Summary
His hair is blonde, not brown. She tells herself, trying to keep the images at bay. She did the same for everyone else, too, ogling at them for a few seconds too long, as if trying to fix whatever it is that’s broken in them in her mind’s eye. It’s better than trying to fall back asleep, lest she finds herself drowning once more in the sea of black, squeezing the air out of her lungs before she could even try to ask for redemption. Knees bruised, falling onto the floor over and over again in supplication.
It’s one thing, albeit trivial, to keep herself from spiraling down the belief that she hasn’t fucked them up entirely. At least, not yet.

“This is going to break these damn extras.” Izuku sighed, but before he could start his argument, Katsuki went on. “They will never be able to go back to their regular innocent lives, we are going to devastate them, Izuku.”
“I know!” He tried hard not to shout, but the words just forced their way out. “I know.” He repeated, calmer. “But we have to do this. We have to. They have spent their whole lives cushioned and coddled by the good side of quirk society.”
Katsuki’s jaw was so tight, Izuku swore his teeth must be aching from the force of it. When he spoke, he did so through his teeth with pain clear on his features.
“You get it, don’t you; what you’re asking me to do? Izuku I-...you’re asking me to hurt you again. You’re asking me to be your abuser, again.”

OR: My take on 'Compassion Week' - where the hero students have to do presentations on why a villain might become a villain. Izuku and Katsuki decide to pick Quirklessness, and their presentation is...enlightening.

She was always reading about the knights in shining armor, the superheroes that saved the day– they were perfect, even with their flaws. They were born glistening in the sun rays. They were born different, but those differences were used to help those around them– not harm. They were able to provide something useful with their mistakes. Their shame was something that was desired, not loathed. Not something that would make others wince in disgust when they found out.

Rumi sighs. More exhausted than either of them have seen her. Barely-there tremors in her shoulders that have carried the world. She takes the third stool.
"If you already hate yourself it makes it easier to lie that other people do too."
"We never hated you," Zoey argues. Knows she's wrong, too.
"You did." The patterns near Rumi's throat flicker magenta but her tone isn't angry. Just resigned. "For a minute at least."
Her eyes flick over to Mira. Zoey catches the tightening around the edges when Mira refuses to look up from the counter.
"I'm sorry," Zoey says.
"Me too," Rumi responds. Smiling sadly.
It's real, though. It matters that it's real.

Rumi inhaled, the rush of air filling her lungs, inflating that tiny balloon called hope trapped behind her ribs.
“I love you, Celine.”
The words tumbled out of her gracelessly, but so so sweetly. She waited, and all the while, that little balloon grew and grew, the plastic skin of it stretching and thinning with every second before—
“You too,” Celine said back.
‘Pop.’
“Celine,” Rumi tried again, voice shaking as tears she didn’t even know she still had left to shed began to drip down her left cheek. “Celine, I said I love you.”
