Summary
After high school, Ushijima Wakatoshi moves to Tokyo for college. His life is never the same. He makes a friend, wins a few national championships, starts playing for a division one professional volleyball team at the age of 21. He learns that life can be fun and he doesn't always have to be the perfect son or student or athlete every adult had forced him to be in high school. He makes friends with old rivals and reunites with his dad. The biggest shock of it all?
He ends up friends with Iwaizumi Hajime and becomes a matchmaker extraordinaire.

After high school, Iwaizumi Hajime moves to California where he spends six years chasing first an undergrad and then a Master's. Somehow in that time he ends up reuniting and then befriending his biggest rival from high school, Ushijima Wakatoshi. The man is not at all what Hajime remembers him as, and their friendship becomes a pleasant surprise he uses to give Oikawa grey hairs. He spends the two years before moving back to Japan hearing about Ushijima's best friend Bokuto. He was not at all prepared to actually meet the man he had heard so much about.
Hajime folds like a house of cards on day one.
