“Hey, hey,” a soft voice said. Loki was led over to the nearest table by a careful hand braced beneath his arm. Slowly his vision started to return.
“Mobius…” he managed to whisper.
“You keep saying that. How do you know my name? I don’t think I know yours. Is this your first day?”
The world finally came back into focus. Loki started to register where he was. A hard wooden chair. In the Archives. In the TVA. He felt fabric grasped between his fingers and looked down to see he was clutching Mobius’ sleeve. The other man stood over him with a concerned look on his face.

“Hey, you okay?”
Mobius. Mobius was next to him.
Loki’s about to ask why he’d ask such a thing—out loud this time—only to realize he was leaning against a wall, and not in a gracious or casual way.
Loki looks around, situating himself, knowing exactly where he was: one of the interminable number of hallways in the labyrinth that is the TVA. And when he was: right after cleaning himself up in a communal Temporal Core shower and putting on a fresh pair of clothes, following the time when they first ‘fixed’ his time slipping.
Mobius watches him with concern, probably fearing Loki wasn’t back to normal after all.
“Where do you sleep?” Loki asks.
“What?”
“Sleep. Rest. Where do you get it from?” O.B. had mentioned getting no sleep once, so surely everyone else in the TVA did get sleep? Like normal people do? He realized that after all his time here, he didn’t really know; he’d napped here and there at random corners of the premises, but never in an actual, proper bed. There’d been no time for that.
“Well—I mean, I have an assigned room?”
“Perfect. Take me to it.”

Mobius has loved Loki for so long, he'll take being able to talk to him again through his variant over never speaking to his best friend again. And if sometimes his best friend isn't always the Loki he's actually talking to, that's fine, too. He's got a soft spot for all of them, and it's nice to talk to someone who isn't part of the TVA, and doesn't have a stake in dying branches or care about the mystery behind them,
Loki, God of Stories, may have given up everything for Mobius, and everyone, but he was always more than a little selfish at heart. He'll gladly use whatever means necessary to get even a fraction of the happy ending he seemed destined to never have.
Loki of the Once Sacred Timeline has become a bit of an unwitting pawn in their tangled love story, something that brings him a modicum of entertainment while he rules Asgard under the guise of being Odin. But the more Mobius visits, the more tangled the love story becomes as Loki he finds himself falling for Mobius as well, using his being the physical link between the Nowhere Man and the God of Stories to his advantage.Series
