“Ha-ha,” said Alec, pushing backwards on his skates. “Do you want to see the one where I fall on my ass, or the one where I crash into the side of the rink?”
“Hmm,” hummed Izzy, easily gliding along with him. Max stomped awkwardly on the ice next to her, his hand tightly clasped around her wrist for support. “How about the one where a dashing young man sweeps you off your feet?”

“Look out!”
Alec felt a body collide with his own for the second time of the evening, nearly knocking him off his feet. He staggered under the weight of a full grown man, hands instantly reaching to his assailant’s waist to steady the both of them. When neither of them went toppling down he let out a relieved sigh, breath white in the frigid air. He looked up to meet an inquisitive pair of brown eyes set into one of the most attractive faces Alec had ever seen. He nearly dropped the man.

Tonight would be another first. It was Christmas Eve and he was on his way to spend it with his boyfriend. Before Magnus, Alec never really had reason to celebrate any of the Mundane holidays, Shadowhunters not being big on celebrations in general. But now that he was with Magnus, now that he was experiencing so many new things, reached so many new highs and milestones in their relationship, he gladly wanted to indulge his boyfriend’s penchant of partaking in Mundane traditions and festivities.

Magnus has brought Alec to the roof for some target practice in the snow. Alec doesn't realize that he's not the one practicing until it's too late.
‘I can’t believe you’ve never done this before,’ Magnus says. He throws the snowball in the air. A purple streak shoots from his hand, giving the snowball a push and sending it flying much faster than any person could throw it.
Alec pulls his bowstring back, aims, and releases. The snowball bursts when the arrow hits its target.
‘I was a bit busy with training.’ He pulls a new arrow from his quiver.

Alec is warm.
He doesn’t need to open his eyes to know the sunlight is splaying across the bed, but it’s the body tucked up behind his that’s really generating heat. The arm slung low around Alec’s waist and soft breath rising and falling against his skin make Alec’s toes curl and he wants to bury himself deeper into the covers and hold onto this moment forever.

Alec helps his neighbour decorate his apartment, and he's not the only with slightly ulterior motives than simply spreading the Christmas cheer.
Alec likes Christmas just fine. He’s not the Grinch his sister claims him to be. He likes spending time with his family, decorating, buying gifts. He even likes the occasional Christmas song. What he doesn’t like is the hype, the absolute frenzy people get into when buying gifts, putting so many lights up that it has to be a fire hazard; and the same, but also slightly different, songs being played on the radio, over and over again. So when his neighbour asks him if he can help decorate his apartment for the holidays, Alec surprises himself by saying yes.
