Perhaps he should have said his goodbyes. He wondered if he would regret that, if he didn’t make it back. If some spiritus version of himself would linger on this side of the veil to watch her move through life, forever incapable of moving on because he’d denied himself the chance to kiss her goodbye.
But she was in good hands. The Weasleys would take care of her if he didn’t make it back. They’d keep her safe, but nobody, nothing could keep her safe for good unless and until every man and woman who had ever donned a silver mask or held their forearm aloft to be marked by a maniacal monster fell.
Or, at the very least, until the monster himself faded into dust, and the people who stood by watching his girl be tortured paid for their sins.

Hermione Granger seems to be the perfect muggleborn. Other than her achievements in the wizarding world aka helping take down lord Voldemort everyone thinks her muggle life is perfectly normal. However, after Voldemorts defeat her real secret is revealed. She’s actually been a princess this whole time with a kingdom waiting for her return. Upon her return, her parents, the King and Queen inform her, that in order to take the crown she will need a husband. While hermione thinks this is utter rubbish, she decides to comply and has the perfect person in mind. A person who perhaps is looking for an escape from Great Britain and to leave the turmoil of the war behind. In comes Draco Malfoy, while he won’t be easy to deal with, or be married to, she thinks he just might be the answer to all her prayers.

Summary
Hermione lost both her parents unexpectedly in a plane crash. Facts come to light after she took a heritage test. She was not a muggle-born, but part of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. Harry is in love with Hermione but doesn't realise it. He thinks of her as his best friend. When Malfoy tries to get a betrothal contract with Hermione, James steps in knowing the Wizarding Laws by claiming that he, Hermione, and Harry already have an agreement. Hermione's grandmother is not pleased and tries to circumvent the agreement with nefarious means.
ALSO, it has come to my attention that some people may not understand, so let me clarify. Hermione is a student and James is not. This is a story about an older man and a younger woman, and it involves underage characters. If this is not your cup of tea, please take care and be well.
