“We’re good, Naruto, but are we ready to face off against everyone else?” Ino asked.
“And not just leaf nin, but genin from all the lands,” Shikamaru added.
“Look,” Naruto said seriously, “Asuma recommended us for a reason. I say we trust that reason and go for it! Believe it!”
“This is such a drag,” Shikamaru complained.
Ino hid her smile and cocked her head to the side and said faux thoughtfully, “It’s either this or we keep doing D-rank missions. Do we really want to continue catching that damn cat and cleaning farm equipment?”
Shikamaru winced and admitted, “You have a point.”
Naruto shouted in victory and ran in small circles, “Yes, yes, yes! Chunin exams, here we come!”Series

Blue eyes widened.

“I’ve really, really missed you..” He dropped down on a forearm and buried his hand in soft blonde locks, pulling his face towards him. “So much..”
Naruto stared up at heavy onyx eyes, surprised to see them filling with tears. “Sasuke, hey- come on. Snap out of it.”
His face moved lower and Naruto jerked his head to the side.
“Sasuke!!”
