Summary
After Castiel’s declaration of love before being sucked into the Empty, Dean is grief stricken, and also convinced that Castiel didn’t mean love love. Angels don’t feel things in the same way as humans, after all. When Castiel unexpectedly returns, Dean decides that the best way to deal with the uncertainty of said declaration is to avoid it, making for a very awkward atmosphere between them.
