“Eh?” As she abandons the dishes she was working on, turning the faucet off with her elbow, Hana turns around to stare at the unknown girl standing in the doorframe, ponytail and frowned brows. “There aren't any customers around, that’s why I said that, no need to be rude!”
“You’d be surprised by how many people push the door when we’re closed, only to get mad that they can’t get in. Like the giant closed sign wasn’t a good indicator of the problem. If it’s open, you’re fine.” The orange hue of the evening is slowly losing its comfort, getting darker at the edges as minutes pass by. Where are the boys, she isn’t certain. They’re probably fine, and if she was to shout their names, wouldn’t they appear, willing to assist with the occasional customer? “Hello, welcome to Deadmans, what would bring you happiness?”

And so, Fenix remains; stripped of its name, of the glorious ship which fell into the harbor, shattering into fragments children still cut their feet on as they dip their feet into the water on a hot Summer day. You could paint the current buildings Blue Bird use with endless coats of paint, and it’d still reek of whatever Fenix was in the end. They’re lucky, he supposes, that they get to simply go on—trials would have been uncomfortable times in the spotlight, and civilians are prone to forgive as long as they get something out of it. Or perhaps it is the urge to move on, to abandon everything which feels like a gaping wound.
“Erm, are you sure? We have an Igarashi Daiji, but no Kagerou.”
“Isn’t that his demon? You know, the man who wears black,” the second guard asks out loud, and surely, Blue Bird could put some sort of effort into their pitiful security, “either way it should be fine if we bring that to him, right?”
Underneath the delivery cap he wears, Orteca lets out a soft sigh. “And then who would be guarding the entrance?”

“Yeah, well, you’re getting that. Parents wanna meet you. Not, like, you, but the boyfriend I mentioned since they were gushing about Daiji and—”
“Ah, so it is merely jealousy, once again, you can’t seem to outgrow that habit of lying for a sliver of attention.”

And then the wedding gets ruined a second time,” Tamaki finished, his cheeks red from saying all that in one breath, the pillow as good as crushed between his hands. “So, if you have any suggestions, I’m all ears.”
“You think I can come up with a solution for this?” Hikaru asked. Even he seemed a little hesitant, which wasn’t a good sign.
“I believe in you,” Tamaki said, “If not in your ability to problem solve, then in your ability to make my death a quick one.”

Cheap brand, probably, one pack stolen by disinterested hands—the smell lingers between them, burning formaldehyde and stale coffee or whatever it’s meant to remind you of.

Their fingers brush against each other (how useless is that spike in his heartbeat, breath coming out slightly shorter) as Hikaru takes in a half-blurry picture, probably taken in a hurry. A Summer festival, hm.
“It’d be only us, so, I get it if you do not want to come with me—I’m not implying you’re the last person I invited!” Tamaki steps back, phone slipping out of Hikaru’s grasp. His eyes are slightly wider than usual, as if he had somehow ruined it all. “I really want to go with you. It’s not like we get a lot of one on one time, so—I figured it’d be fun.”

There is a little jab, one that Daiji isn’t even throwing in the open to be mean, something about Kagerou not being bright enough for college.

There is a flash of purple; no umbrella in sight, as the wind would slip inside, ripping it apart, only a windbreaker worn for the sake of pretending, the hood surrounding the face so harshly that, even in the blurry evening, he can see how fabric digs into the forehead. He stares at the frown, and then the rest of face is nothing more than fogged glasses and something sinking in his stomach.
“Oh my, you look terrible,” he starts with, as introductions have never quite been their thing, he supposes, “were you looking for me?~”
He’s aware some of the cuts inside his mouth have left invisible scars, unlike the ones on the rest of his body, and he can trace them with his tongue, awaiting for a reply. Not in the form of words, as there is only so much time for repetitive warnings, people tire of the junk they keep out of sentimentality, watching it from the corner of their eyes with dread inside their gaze and shaky hands.
“Just taking a casual scroll during a typhoon, you know—of course I was after you! Everyone is, not that you care.”
