“Are you sure about this?” Morgana hisses, in what’s probably intended to be a whisper. Akira rolls his eyes.
“Yes,” he says, with grim resolve. “In my entire life, I have never been as sure about anything as I am about this.”
Morgana gives him a dubious stare, flicks at one ear with his paw.
“I know you guys had… some kind of an understanding,” he whispers, in what may be the *literal* understatement of the century. “Back in that other reality. But things were different there, Akira. This is the real world, and that’s a real murderer sitting across from you! You can’t just bring people home like stray dogs!”
“Why not?” Akira asks stubbornly. “It worked out fine with you.”

Summary
"Make a wish!" the little boy clasped his hands together and squeezed his big amber eyes shut tight. His deep brown hair glowed almost gold in the planetarium's incandescent lighting, and Goro smiled. Jose was the boy he had adopted two years ago and was, in every sense of the word, his son. He was a constant spark of joy in his otherwise mundane life.
Goro hoisted up the heavy eight year old, thinking he was getting too heavy to carry; it was a thought that caused a twinge of sadness in his chest. He sighed and looked up at the ceiling, holding Jose tight, "I wouldn't know what to wish for. I have you, a good job, and a nice house. What else could we possibly need?"

Summary
Goro gritted his teeth. Lowering his voice, he growled, “I swore to become the most powerful weapon on my own! I’ve had a lot of people try to be my meister, and they all failed. No meister can match my soul wavelength!”
Igor smiled and glanced at something past Goro’s right shoulder. “And what would you say if I found one?”
Following his line of sight, Goro turned around to see another boy, reclining lazily in one of the armchairs, with his elbow on the armrest, propping up his chin. His messy black hair partially obscured his cold, gray eyes, and his small, amused smile made Goro feel like a small prey animal being stalked by a large panther.
No. He wasn’t prey, he was a goddamn weapon, and this kid wasn’t some apex predator, he was some house cat about to bite off more than he could chew.(Soul Eater AU)

Summary
The Phantom Thieves are famous throughout Japan for their seemingly impossible heists; banks, museums, corporate offices - no target is, apparently, too difficult for this crew, and they ghost past security measures like the specters they’ve taken as their namesake.
When Detective Goro Akechi lands the Phantom Thieves case, he’s sure that this will be the one that will get him the recognition he deserves. And when he gets his hands on their absolutely maddening leader, he's going to personally lock him up and throw away the key.
Getting caught isn't in Akira's plans at all, but he is nothing if not inventive. And anyway, any detective who can get that close to him is intriguing, despite the danger.
(Or perhaps, because of it.)

Summary
For some reason, this question throws Akira. Simply because Joker… looks like him. He’s Akira, if Akira wasn’t so flawed; he’s got the same curly black hair, the same thick glasses (only, Joker must wear contact lenses), the same gap between his front teeth. It seems all too pathetic to describe his ideal self to Akechi - from what Akira has seen so far, Akechi is perceptive, and he’d undeniably catch onto the character that Joker is evidently portraying.
Akira is a writer. When his boss introduces him to comic book artist, Goro Akechi, he doesn't quite know how he's supposed to continue his story now that the whole thing is a two-player endeavour. And, perhaps, writing about his character 'Joker' will give him the confidence to confront the direction that his own life is taking.
