Summary
While growing up, it was assumed that Lan Xichen was next in line for succession. No one could believe it when the moody and quiet second son of the emperor presented as the alpha and not the more amicable and diplomatic first son.
Lan Xichen knew his younger brother would have rather travelled the lands to seek out honour and justice, instead of being forever bogged down in the palace with scrolls. There was also the constant badgering from the Empress Dowager, Lan Qiren, that Wangji needed to contend with as well. The Empress Dowager wanted Lan Wangji to continually expand his harem and produce more potential heirs.

Summary
He was woken by the feel of hands on him, startling him so much that he tried to leap away, only to find himself being held surprisingly firmly. Everything around him looked much too large and he felt very disoriented.
Looking up, he found the curious eyes of a small boy staring down at him from where he was apparently being held in the boy's hands. Which was impossible. How could he be smaller than a child? He struggled again in the child’s grasp, catching sight of a pair of white, fur-clad paws waving in the air below him.

Lan Wangji is hit by a curse on a night hunt near Yiling and heads to the Burial Mounds in order to seek help from Wei Wuxian. On the way there the curse overtakes him and he is turned into a bunny. Now he is stuck in the Burial Mounds with no way to explain what happened or ask for assistance.
