Sidon has not spoken a single word ever since Zelda made her proposal. She barely addressed him past what was proper too, despite the fact that she was there actually, only, to ask for his hand.
A per ancient traditions, a marriage proposal between royals must come with a great gesture- a gift of sorts.

Sidon finally managed to secure a meeting with Cheiftess Riju at a halfway point between their lands. He is surprised to see Link along with her, but obviously very pleased.
Taking the plunge, Sidon finally reveals the true meaning behind the crest he had given to Link.

Summary
Link has to face the enormity of his task to subdue the Divine Beasts, and his anxieties surrounding his previous failure, all the while having to deal with a massive crush on a certain shark prince. Sidon's own feelings for Link, he finds, are not quite as platonic as he previously believed. Meanwhile, the lizalfos are encroaching on Zora's Domain, but for what nefarious purpose?
Basically, the elf-dork and the shark-dork have lots of emotional pining issues while lizalfos politics run interference. This fic has heavy plot at times, but also the lizalfos speak in iambic pentameter, for funsies. There are also awful puns.

Summary
Link couldn't be sure if he was always this way; was he even remotely the same person he was 100 years ago? He was quite sure the boy he'd been had died and come back a monster, a hollow shell of bitterness and rage, blunt in every aspect but the ones that made him a perfect killer. Who remained that could offer him the truth? It felt as though everyone that had truly known him took those answers with them, leaving his life a tattered patchwork of various endings. He saw no reason not to simply allow Hyrule to come to an end as well. There was only one person in his life that offered kindness and comfort, asking nothing in return, one person that could make him feel something, rather than nothing, one person who seemed to represent a beginning, rather than an ending.
