Sherlock Holmes has solved the ultimate mystery, unmasking the Lord of Crime and saving his life to boot. But can he decipher the workings of Liam's heart...or worse, his own? Set after the events of the anime/chapter 67 of the manga, this one-shot is meant to fill in some of the blanks of Sherlock and William's time in New York. Specifically, the part where they realize their feelings for each other lol.

He lifts Liam’s hands and presses them against either side of his own neck to warm them. The brief shock of cold coaxes an involuntary sigh from him. He closes his eyes for moment. There is no movement or sound, save for the muted bustle of the city outside the walls, and the crackle of the stove in the kitchen.
“It seems,” Liam says, hands around Sherlock’s throat tremoring, an emotion his soft voice does not betray. He’s not squeezing hard enough to restrict blood flow, but Sherlock feels the pressure slowly trickle heat into his face. “That atonement does not come so easily to me.”
