Peter Parker didn't ask to get bitten by some radioactive spider in Oscorp. He also didn't ask for the confident, fine-as-hell guy from Midtown to sneak into the same building, accidentally set half the lab on fire, and unknowingly develop brand-new flame powers.
Marlon "MJ" Watson is sharp-tongued, always one step ahead, and carries himself like he knows he looks good doing it. His life isn't perfect, but he doesn't parade it around. His sister is sick, but he carries the pain alone. He had no one, and the friends in school were just people to talk to; they never cared enough for him. At least, he thought, because the hot nerd in chem class seemed like a cool guy.
Now they're both hiding powers, dodging the same questions at school, and somehow ending up on the same rooftops at night. While Peter's trying to figure out this whole "great power" thing, MJ's ready to burn anyone who deserves it without hesitation.
