Guilt weighs on him, far heavier than the artificial gravity holding him against the floor. “It's not that simple…”

He takes a shaky breath, unsure of what to say.
“...I’m sorry. I didn't… want to.”
“Then why?”
He can't articulate an answer.
Grace struggles to make peace with his past and cannot find it in himself to be the savior that the universe needs.
Fortunately for the universe, Grace isn't alone, and is surrounded by love whether he likes it or not.

Summary
Ryland Grace is unknowingly pregnant when he is put into suspended animation and sent on a suicide mission to save Earth from astrophage. After completing his mission and turning back for Rocky, he and his friend have to navigate ever-complicated human pregnancy and parenthood during the 4 year trip to Erid. After touchdown, will Erid be willing and able to support two fragile human lives? What will Grace have to do in the name of bravery for his child? What does life look like for a child of the stars?

I’m clawing through my brain, scratching at every inch of it to dig up something but there’s just… nothing. No memories. I can’t dredge up anything past the first time I woke up in this bed. I don’t know where I came from. I don’t know what happened to me.
I don’t know who I am.
Simon arrives on Erid with no memory. His wounds, his vessel, and his fear are his only clues to his past, and Grace his only shepherd.
