Summary
Nancy: call me when you get this
Nancy: don’t freak out, he’s okHis vision instantly goes inky black and static fills his ears in a tidal wave. Nightmarish images of TK’s dead body flood Carlos’ imagination all at once. The ambulance was hit with TK inside. He was attacked by another patient – stabbed. Shot. Another kidnapping? Another coma? His hands are shaking. He immediately presses Nancy’s name, picking up on the third ring.
“Nancy?” He hopes she can’t hear the tremble in his voice over the phone.
“Hey. He’s totally fine, I swear. A patient was a little…” She trails off. “Well, we’re at St. Josephs, he told me to call you, but he also wanted me to stress that he’s fine.”
“I’m fine!” TK faintly yells in the background, Carlos can hear a slight smile in his voice and Nancy laughs. Carlos can’t bring himself to feel any relief. “Tell him to breathe.”

Four months after the finale, TK gets hurt on the job. Carlos doesn't take it well.

Between a meddling family, copious amounts of hot chocolate, and quiet nights, TK and Carlos are left with plenty of time to address those lingering feelings and their rocky past…

In the next moment, Carlos could hear a thud, followed by a curse, and he was pretty sure the guy had just hit his head somehow. Carlos winced in sympathy.
“Sorry! Sorry, it’s just your neighbor here.”
“Dude,” came the reply, the voice sounding rough, probably from all the crying. “Way to give a person a heart attack. Also, creepy much?”
“My apologies. The walls here are basically paper with some paint slapped on. So uhm… noises are somewhat muffled but… not really, I guess.”~*~
3 times Carlos only heard his neighbor’s voice, 2 times TK lusted over a certain officer, +1 time it all melted together.

Summary
They’d stopped fighting, but they hadn’t actually solved the issue yet. They also hadn’t slept in the same bed since that fight six days ago. In those quiet moments of comfort they would usually talk, really open up and meld into each other, and fully forgive.

The hardest part of fighting with the one you love is feeling like it isn’t fully resolved before Real Life drags you away again. A week of opposing shifts has never felt harder to TK when all he wants to do is hold Carlos close and fully resolve this argument.
