DHr Craft Fest
A Harry Potter fanfic fest built around the craft of writing. Twenty rhetorical devices. One challenge: let the language do the work.
All ratings welcome.
500 to 2,000 words.
Submissions are anonymous until reveal day.
A Note on AI:
This fest is about craft. Specifically, your craft.
I am not going to pretend I can police how you write, and I am not going to lecture you about AI.
It is a tool, and tools are not inherently good or bad.
But here is what I will say: the entire point of this fest is to make a deliberate choice with language and then own it.
The Craft Core of every prompt asks you to let a device do real structural and emotional work in your story. That exercise only means something if the choices are yours. If you used AI to generate the prose, you did not complete the exercise. You watched "someone" else do it.
Submit work you can stand behind. Work where you can point to a sentence and say I made that choice and I know why. If you cannot say that, this might not be the right fest for that piece.
