To alleviate the hole Robby left in The Pitt while on his sabbatical, Dennis works the night shift instead. On his first day, he realizes that a lot of things are different. Including the presence of one Crus Henderson, who he finds a very calming, encouraging presence.
Oh yeah, and he also kinda wants to kiss the hell out of him.

When a twelve year old child is brought into the Pitt beaten within an inch of her life, it becomes a desperate attempt to locate the parents of the child, only to learn from the child that he’s in fact a trans child who goes by Dennis, they learn that his parents sent him to a conversion camp because of his “condition” and that he’s no longer welcome in their home nor do they care what happens to the child anymore. Jack and Michael decide to foster then adopt the boy.

Dennis’s slurred speech seemed to produce a sound that Trinity could barely make out.
“F-field? S’ too warm.”
This wasn’t good. This wasn’t good at all.
His muscles suddenly stiffened, and his mouth twisted into a grimace that would remain burned into Trinity’s mind for a long time to come.
He was seized by violent convulsions.OR
Dennis has heatstroke, Trinity is panicking, and Robby is there for his kids.
