Jason admits that they maybe should've taken the threat of Hammer more seriously but, well, look at him. Even now, surrounded by magic that makes the air thick, he looks like a mannequin wearing last years clothes.
Admittedly, he's not the one doing the magic, he hired out for that. Which is probably why they should've taken it more seriously — just because Hammer is impressively incompetent doesn't mean he doesn't have money. And money can buy competence.
But no one could've possibly expected Hammer to be pulling this at a Wayne Industries Press Release. Especially not with him riding in on some mechanical monstrosity while a bunch of figures in robes chant.
