Summary
Techno moved his eyes up from where he confirmed there was flour on the man’s sweatshirt, looking towards the man’s face, where his breath was promptly punched out of him when the two made eye contact. His eyes bore into striking emerald, so achingly familiar that his heart simultaneously kick-started and plummeted to his stomach.
It can’t be. This has to be a reincarnation, or- or some uncanny look-alike, or some sick joke from some sick god. Was this some form of karma for all the people he’s killed in the past?
“Dream?” Techno’s voice was airy, like he had just gotten his breath sucked out of himーwhich he did, because this can go only two possible directions. Either there’s some disgustingly-accurate look-alike standing in front of Techno, and they’re going to call the police since Techno is sure he looks insane with his eyes blown wide, his jaw dropped open, and his hand holding a box of chocolate cake mix; or, somehow, the lover he left 2,424 years ago is alive and standing here, covered in flour, in the baking aisle of the only grocery store in the town Techno lives in.
Or: Techno and Dream broke up 2,424 years ago, but didn't realize the other was immortal, until now.

Summary
If there is one thing Techno has learned about his friend, in the decade that he’s known him, is that Dream is terribly oblivious to a lot of different things. First off, Techno’s been in love with the idiot for two years now, and Dream still hasn’t caught on. They’ve been on borderline dates, they watch movies together, and they spend almost every waking moment together. And the thing is, Techno’s pretty sure he likes him back! The telltale signs of a crush are there, but honestly, Techno wouldn’t be surprised if he was oblivious to his own feelings.
Dream's also very oblivious to the fact that Tommy had stolen the music disk charms he owned, and Techno had covered for him, despite the blond knowing the things were missing for a while now, and there's only one person who would be petty enough to steal them. Techno thinks that maybe him being oblivious to that is for good reason, since he would be murderous if he found out that someone stole them.
The biggest thing he has yet to notice, however, is that Techno is a vampire.
Or: Techno is a vampire and everyone manages to figure it out... except Dream.

Summary
In the short time that Techno’s known Dream, he’s only seen the man completely clear of glitches once.
He remembers the day fondly, remembers a call of his name before someone was jumping right in front of him with a grin on their face, the only one not intimidated by the gleam in Techno’s eye and the sword in his hand; it’s always the same with Dream, the unwavering confidence, the complete lack of fear, even while his body actively decayed and built itself right back up 24/7.
Dream had been blabbering on about something, his hands waving wildly, but Techno was only half aware of what he was saying, more focused on the lack of colorful glitches that had been plaguing his friend’s body since before he was even fully developed. When he had pointed it out to Dream, the man had stopped mid-sentence, looking down at his legs, then his arms, then his hands, before finally looking back up at Techno. The warrior will never forget the look of pure ecstasy on Dream’s face, and Techno’s sure that if he could, the man would be crying; Techno had smiled that day, and it felt foreign on his face.
He really should’ve known it wouldn’t last.

George raised his netherite sword, pointing it towards Techno’s chestーwhich was eye level with the brunette. “No, you ruined my life. You took something of mine that I intend to get back, and I am going to kill you for it.” During the man’s speil, Techno managed to take out his communicator, sending a quick text that read “dream come quick, there’s a clown at my base” before focusing back on George’s words.
In all honesty, he has no clue what the ex-king means. As far as he knows, the two of them had hardly interacted, and while he did assassinate George, he returned his armor afterwards with no problem. Since then, as said before, George has pointedly stayed far, far away from any current events, so Techno doesn’t know what he possibly could’ve taken from the man. “And what could that be?”
“You took Dream.”
Techno stood there for a few moments in silence, staring at George with a blank face, before he burst out laughing, and the voices screamed in tandem.
Or: George confronts Techno after the vivid dream he had, and it goes about as well as expected

Dream had been overjoyed when Techno had first given him the flower, thanking him both vocally and with a hug, and Techno’s blush had rivaled the color of the petals. Their date had gone perfectly, and the flower spent most of its time tucked on top of Dream’s ear, and the rest is history.
He didn’t know the blond had kept it.
“‘Course I kept it, Tech. I keep everything you give me, but I took this thing everywhere with me when I wasn’t with you.” Techno furrowed his eyebrows at that, and Dream spoke again. “I kept it in my backpack all throughout the rest of high school, I took it to college with me, I even kept it in the dressing room during our wedding.”

Tommy sniffles before he turns around. “My brother’s here with me, he’s somewhere- oh, or he’s right here.” Tommy is suddenly staring right towards Techno, and the lifeguard follows his gaze, looking directly at the pinkette. Technoーafter having a silent conversation with Tommy through their eyes, and nodding once he was sure Tommy was actually fineーlooked towards the lifeguard, his breath getting caught in his throat for the second time that day.
The man in front of him, who looked roughly the same age as Techno, was, to put it frankly, stunning. He had tan skin, a sharp jawline, dirty blond hair, and startling emerald eyes hiding behind long lashes. Techno watched a bead of water drop down from the man’s jawline to his chest, stopping to pool at his collarbone for a moment before continuing its path down. Techno’s eyes caught on a few freckles scattered around the man’s chest, and he directs his gaze back up to the lifeguard’s face to find a splattering of freckles on the man’s cheeks.
Shit. When did he become such a simp?

Dream would’ve never thought that’d he be sitting in the stands during an MCC, watching everybody else compete for the title of winner, and not being mad about it in the slightest. To be fair, he wasn’t exactly happy when he found out he wouldn’t be in this championship, but after learning that Technoblade, the man he’s admired and followed for so long, was going to be in it, he found that sitting on the sidelines wasn’t so bad.

They both know each other’s boundaries like the back of their hands, both of them memorizing what topics to never bring up to avoid either of them legitimately getting their feelings hurt. Techno never brings up Dream’s mask, his mom or uncle, or Tubbo; Dream never brings up Techno’s voices, the long, cape-like jacket he wears almost constantly, or his family. “George said it was weird.”

The entire sceneーthe sobs, the shaking hands, the heaving of Dream’s chest as his lungs desperately attempt to take in oxygenーsuddenly made Techno want to cry.
He’s no stranger to Dream getting hurtーthe two have known each other for nearly a decade, and have been friends for roughly half of that, lovers for roughly two yearsーbut typically, Dream gets right back up, ready to fight again, or to climb another tree, or to keep attempting to bribe a wild fox in following him home. But this time, he’s gotten too hurt, and his wounds have never fully healed, even if it’s been months since Techno’s brought him home; and as if that wasn't enough, the blond is plagued with nightmares on the daily, a full night's sleep becoming a long-gone memory.
God, he hates the nightmares.
