Summary
Maybe Tav can still escape this. But he can’t see a way out.
He doesn’t know if he wants a way out.
Isn’t this what he’s longed for all along? Someone else to take his place. To take command and make all the hard choices Tav hates to make. Someone else to play Astarion’s game, play it better, keep him safe and break him free.
A better man than he is.
Trapped in the Shadowfell, bereft of his allies, his god, and his erstwhile lover, Tav searches for a way home. Late Act 2. Astarion x m!Tav.

Summary
Distantly, Tav knows this isn’t real. It’s an illusion. One of Shar’s shadows wearing his face. A ghost mimicking his voice.
But Tav’s not so different, is he?
How many times has he looked into a mirror and wished he could reach through the glass and strangle the man staring back? Before the nautiloid, there’s only one life Tav ever wanted to take.
Only one man he ever wanted to kill.
Astarion’s faith is tested in the Gauntlet, and Tav comes face to face with his oldest enemy. Late Act 2. Astarion x m!Tav.

Summary
“Make it hurt, then. Kiss me like you want to kill me.”
“I can do that.”
Two broken stars in a decaying orbit, passing closer and closer together until the inevitable, devastating collision.
Or, Tav is fucked up and down bad for Astarion, who doesn't quite see the appeal (but he's getting there). Sexual frustration, sloppy handjobs, a heavy dose of masochism, and way too many failed Insight checks ahead. Tav falls first, Astarion falls harder (eventually).
Or, a tragic-but-hopeful romance told through a series of incredibly ill-advised sexual encounters.
If you want to read a story where Astarion is sweet from the start and Tav is here to fix him, this isn't the one. If you want to read about two terribly broken men spending a good long while making each other worse before they make each other better, this might be for you. If you thought the in-game romance was a little too easy and it should have been ten times more painful and difficult to convince Astarion he's worthy of love, this is definitely for you.
Set during the canonical events of Baldur's Gate 3.
