He was asleep—that was the first thing Bucky registered. Only now did Bucky see the time. The damn time; it was past three in the morning.
"Sorry." The word tumbled out before he could stop it. "I didn't mean to wake you—"
"Hey." There was some shuffling on the other end, then a click. Bucky paused, imagining Sam with the phone tucked between his shoulder and chin as he turned on the lights. "It’s okay. Trouble sleeping?”
