Jack chuckled. “Why? Because I’m the Guardian of Fun? Because I’m all about good times and making the children laugh? There’s a lot more to me than you guys know even now. I may be a Guardian, but I’m also Jack Frost. I can be as cold and unforgiving as winter itself when necessary.”
On a trip to collect a child's lost tooth, Toothiana unexpectedly finds Jack with the child, and quickly learns about the unpleasant reason for the tooth being lost. When the visit ends up going from bad to worse, she sees a side of Jack that she never expected and will likely never forget.
