Summary
shanks had met many on the seas, but none like the boy they called anchor. he was bright, stubborn, and fiery like the sun, and it drew the captain in from the very first moment.
through every storm, every swell, and every scar, the meaning of the name remained close to shanks’ chest. he once said it was because the boy sank like an anchor, but was that truly all there was?

Summary
Shanks’s soul has grown darker, since he left the (Un)holy land.
It was not because of any choice, choices, decision, or decisions that he made.
Save one choice he made when he first entered Mariejois.
A choice he only learned about the full consequences of long after he had made it.
Which is just the way the person responsible for that poisoned choice prefers things.
(The Shallows Covenant does more than just make the holders obey Imu when they’re within range).
(Only the Red-Haired Pirates know that Shanks was the first person Luffy freed).
