Minutes went by without any sound outside the commentators’ chatter and the screams coming from Rin’s movie. A usual night at their house. What wasn’t usual was that, after watching the first half of a Bundesliga match, Sae turned off the tablet and set it aside. He didn’t want to watch the film – it was in bad taste, too gory and nonsensical, the kind that Rin liked quite a bit apparently if the neatly-aligned B-movies DVD and Blu-ray boxes on a nearby shelf were any indication – but he had other plans. Tomorrow was their long-awaited day off and, though he already agreed to go out with Rin for some fresh air, there were things he wanted to do before – things that might affect if they would be up to go outside the next day. If it ended that way, he’d make it up to his brother later.
Or: Perhaps letting a horror movie play in the background while they have sex isn’t actually that great. Rin doesn’t seem to care.

It wasn’t that Rin was fragile – since getting into the team, he’d filled out, grown up, and didn’t fly away anymore when getting body slammed on the field – or delicate – if anything, he was still a little rough around the edges, a little too destructive for his own good – like the omegas on TV or in books, far from it even, but that didn't change Sae’s opinion. It wasn’t about Rin himself, but about one of his habits – and his scent.
You weren’t supposed to know what you’d present as until reaching adolescence save for some early bloomers – like Sae who, still on the cusp of childhood, had to lock himself in his room for a week when the pains of his first rut started gnawing at his gut – even if there could be signs. If these signs were real or simply an amalgamation of clichés, Sae didn’t really know – didn’t really care as long as it didn’t affect his (and their) ability to play football.
Or: Sae’s sure Rin is an Omega – It’s kind of obvious when you think about it.
