Summary
Shinsou clenched his fists at his sides. “I’ve worked so hard to be where I am and now, just because I’ve been hurt, my dreams are being trashed? It’s not fair.”
“Life isn’t fair kid,” Aizawa resumed walking towards the door.
“You’re not being rational!” Shinsou yelled.

Summary
“That’s not even the most unfair part,” Shouta ground out, “I didn’t… I didn’t even get to say goodbye. I didn’t know what had happened until the battle ended and I couldn’t find him. One of Bubblegirl’s sidekicks told me,” Shouta paused for a minute, “that Bubblegirl was the last person to talk to him. His last words were ‘I don’t want to die’, over and over again.”

Summary
“I’m sorry about that, kid…” And he means it. No child should be denied such basic necessities. On the subject of children— ”How old are you, anyway?”
“T-twelve.”
Double shit.
Aizawa Shouta finds himself in a situation that, given enough time, he could probably think his way out of...but that was before he knew about the kid that has clearly been abandoned by every adult who should have ever cared for him.
Well, he's never said he likes things easy.

Summary
Shinsou Hitoshi has tried, subtly, to call attention to it. It doesn't work - he doesn't know how to go about it. How do you tell someone something like this, when even his case worker won't believe him?
The thing is, he's scared - terrified even. He doesn't know if he can last much longer. He needs evidence, he knows, and someone to listen.Or: Shinsou's foster parents are abusive, stuff happens, a camera is involved, and then Dadzawa.

Summary
Life has never favoured Shinsou, exemplified thusly: even a simple evening errand to retrieve groceries cannot pass quietly and without incident. No, rather Shinsou is hit with a quirk that thoroughly strips him of every inch of his dignity and actively encourages him to choose a new identity and never be seen again.
The quirk makes him cry. Specifically, it makes him bawl when he looks at Aizawa and Yamada.

Summary
Aizawa Shouta was an underground hero, and a teacher trained to see all the signs of abuse. And from the moment he started training Shinsou Hitoshi, he had his suspicions.
He noticed the beat up clothing, the odd unexplained bruise here and there, the flinches at sudden movements, how the kid lit up at every little praise or kind word.
His student gave no indication anything was wrong at home, was quick to brush off any questions. A practiced liar, with a practiced nonchalant air.
It was frustrating, but Shouta knew there was nothing he could do until the kid admitted the truth to him, no matter what he suspected.
So the underground hero watched, and he waited. For the day his kid felt comfortable enough to come to him, or for a sign big enough that the school could investigate.
And a few months into training, it all came to a head.
OR
Aizawa takes Hitoshi in with his emergency foster parent license. Hitoshi doesn't know how normal family dynamics work, but he's about to find out. Cue lots of hurt/comfort and family fluff.

Summary
Training outdoors in the dark after society had all but collapsed was not the smartest idea.
Following and eavesdropping on a group of villains talking about breaking into his school most certainly wasn't smart, either.
But, Shinsou didn't do things just because they were smart. He did things because they were practical. Rational. That was what he was taught to do, and what he knew was right.
