Their eldest brother always cared for them when Splinter was away, was always the one to hug and comfort them when something went awry, the one to tuck them in and kiss them goodnight when Splinter was too busy meditating or had already fallen asleep. Leonardo was the one to pull back the covers for them and cuddle them close on his bed when they went to his room after a nightmare.
Or three times the Hamato brothers slept on Leonardo's lap.

Summary
Despite very much not wanting to, Raph opened his eyes. He prepared to yell at whoever it was that was bothering him at this hour. "Someone better be dying." He complained, even more pissed off when he saw the orange bandana through blurry vision. Seriously? It was too late for this. "The fuck are you doing awake at this hour Mike-..."
The words died on his tongue when he saw the tears dripping down his cheeks. Now that he was closer, the older could hear the shudders in his breath.
His expression went from annoyed to concerned so fast, any other day it would have been funny. "Mikey-?"
His brother didn't answer. Instead, without facing him, he lifted the blankets, and got underneath them- head an all, before he let the blanket smother him.
"Woah, hey..." Raph tried to sit up, but stopped when he felt Mikey's arms around his stomach, face nuzzling against his plastron.
...Which felt... hot.
Sickly-hot.

It's no secret the youngest loves all kinds of attention.
Unless he feels bad. Then he tries to avoid it, for some reason.

Leonardo hummed as he tried to stay awake, bouncing Mikey on his knees like he used to do when he was smaller, and the freckled turtle snored against his shoulder.
“He's like a baby.” Raphael snickered, and Leo held back a smile.
“Don't be mean.” He chastised, and the second-oldest laughed.
Donatello sighed deeply, rubbing his eyes to try and stay awake, and Leo looked at him through the rearview mirror before looking back at the road.
“Hang on for just a little bit, guys… We're almost home.”

The brothers are tired, Leo puts them to bed.

Summary
In his lap, Mikey had already fallen asleep. The youngest was so tired he didn't even move or flail around like he always did, instead, his beak was buried in Leo's neck, tickling him with his breaths, legs on one side as the oldest held him the way he would hold a child. Next to him, Donnie kept dozing off, only to jolt awake at the last minute, look around, then start nodding off again. He had worked in his lab non-stop to track the stupid thing, after all, and the light bouncing off the car and the sound of the engine seemed to be soothing him enough to finally rest. Still, he resisted. (And failed) the exact reason he refused to lean against Leo. He knew he would lose.
Even Raph, who was focused on the road, seemed less energized than usual. He did glance at the rear mirror now and then to check on his siblings, but other than that, he didn't do much. Kept rubbing his fist into his eyes. Kept yawning.
Leo himself, as sleepy as he was, stayed awake. He had three little brothers to get to bed after all.
Or
Exhausted after a mission, it's up to Leo to tuck his sleepy little brothers into bed.
