Simon never expected to run into the Crown Prince, at the hospital of all places, and he definitely did not expect him to be so charming and nice. And he most certainly didn't expect to fall in love with him.
Simon visits his little cousin Sofia in hospital and Wilhelm does some charity work there for the kids.

Wilhelm stepped onto the pool deck and gasped, his mouth falling open in shock.
The most beautiful boy he’d ever seen was standing there in the shallow end, playing and singing with a group of preschoolers who were giggling and shrieking delightedly. A mess of damp curls flopped across the boy’s forehead, brown eyes sparkling and a grin stretched across his face as he sang. As Wilhelm watched, the boy lifted a blonde haired toddler in the air, tossing her up and catching her as the little girl giggled. Wilhelm tried very hard not to focus on the way the muscles in the boy’s arms flexed as he lifted the girl effortlessly. A second later he forgot it entirely when the boy stood up to his full height, displaying his toned chest, rivulets of water sluicing down his tan skin and lightly defined abs. Wilhelm’s mouth went dry.

Summary
There’s nothing scarier than when the metal container transporting you up or down a building suddenly stops moving and the lights go out. It’s probably the premise for some thriller movie, where a serial killer pops out of literal thin air to dramatically end your life. Especially as a college student on your way to a lecture with 300 people, and the consequence of 600 eyes looking at you when you walk in late looming over your head.
Wilhelm, our dear protagonist, is an unfortunate victim of this situation. But like midsommar, maybe he’ll find his cult to help him kill his ex-boyfriend and people to cry with him when he sees said ex-boyfriend cheating on him. Or maybe, he’ll have a much nicer experience and find ‘the one’ and be forever thankful for the wretched elevator.

Erik rubbed a hand over his face in frustration, starting attempt number forty two of tying the tie when a voice spoke up from behind him.
“Do you need help?”
Erik spun around to see a kind faced, motherly looking woman in a green dress standing at the entrance of the hallway. Erik didn’t recognize her, which was surprising. Obviously this woman was here for the parents day and Erik was reasonably sure he knew every Swedish elite who was rich enough to send their kid to Hilerska. More surprising than that was the fact that she didn’t seem to recognize him either, or if she did she didn’t seem to care- not about his title or his status or his money.
Erik eyed her with trepidation- his mother had taught him from a young age to expect the worst from everyone- but there was nothing cold in her warm gaze, nothing mocking, nothing that made Erik think she wanted something. Somehow, Erik could tell that this woman was just kind. Here she was, offering help to a stranger simply because he looked like he needed it.
“I would yes, if you wouldn’t mind, Ms…”
“Linda,” the woman said, waving away the title.

They should’ve closed the curtains. He should’ve stepped back, only for a moment, away from Simon’s warm and gentle touch, his soft lips, and loving gaze. Wilhelm should’ve said ‘Wait a second’, step back and close the fucking curtains.
But he was drunk and high, on drugs and love, and there’s one certain truth he hasn’t been able to ignore from the beginning: There’s nothing that matters, once Simon is there. Right in front of him. Nothing else, nobody exists. They don’t matter.
