Little things kept adding up and suddenly Jimin and Namjoon couldn’t be in a room together without wanting to fight. Seokjin and Jungkook grew toxic to one another and the pressure of keeping friendships kept pushing Namjoon and Jimin apart.
Yoongi and Hoseok were the last straw.
And so Jimin ended things. Jungkook and Yoongi fought while Seokjin packed his things and disappeared. Hoseok stayed in the shadows, not once reaching for a helping hand.
Months pass. Spring ends and the summer starts and everything changes.
Yet.

“You’re leaving!?” Jungkook is close to tears so he doesn’t really listen to the promises he is offered. He is only fifteen and he feels like his heart is breaking. “What about Tae?” He tries, hoping that Taehyung’s name will snap him into reason.
“What about him?” Is the cold response that he gets and Jungkook now truly feels like he is losing.
Hours later, when Hoseok is long gone, Jungkook wonders if he should have asked ‘what about my brother’ instead.

It takes him a few seconds to make the connection and when he does more than a few emotions come flowing through.
Surprise comes first and then confusion. Pain and anger soon follow with the realization of not only Jimin’s but Taehyung’s betrayal.

Your best friend. Hoseok wants to say. Your first love, another part of him whispers. He can’t really hear over the sound of his heart breaking. “Nothing.” He says, “I guess I am nothing to you.” Taehyung links their hands together. “Lock the door on your way out.”
Hoseok spares Yoongi one last glance, ignoring the clouded look Yoongi gives him before he is leaving, dragging Taehyung back into the bedroom.
