Hitoshi blinked, trying to dust out the cobwebs in his ears and respond to this situation, like, at all. What did they say.
"Hm?" He hummed inquisitively, rubbing his throat and urging it to work properly and make words. But that sounded like so much effort, especially when he had to monitor what he said so carefully, and he was so tired.
"Do. Uh. Do you. want...want to gotothecafe. With me."

Summary
"Hey, I'm not that bad." Izuku protested, not even sounding like he convinced himself.
"You almost committed murder. In broad daylight. With a six year old on your back." Hitoshi said, because watching that broadcast was when he came to the unfortunate conclusion that, for better or worse, he'd never be able to get the enigma that was Midoriya Izuku out of his head.
(It ended up being for better. Mostly.)
"You fist fought a serial killer to the death." Todoroki offered, and Hitoshi almost snapped his own neck looking between the two of them.

"Shinsou-kun!" Izuku calls out, something dangerously delighted in his tone, and Hitoshi internally pleads with himself to ignore the greenette, but he knows it's futile as he freezes in place. "Oh, that's perfect! I didn't wanna go get you in case you were asleep, but you're here just in time anyway!" He enthused, bouncing over to Hitoshi to drag him over to middle of the room where he'd been standing before, and Hitoshi let him. He didn't even protest all that much.
(It was hard to, with Midoriya's hand in his. Ugh. Feelings.)
"In time for what?" Hitoshi asked with forced nonchalance, and had to bite down a pleasantly-surprised noise when Midoriya didn't hesitate to answer. He never did, outside of when they were against each other in training, but it still surprised him every time. He wondered if he'd ever get used to it.

Summary
It was just- it had been such a shock to see, to even think about, something he hadn't considered. It was like listening to Hitoshi's monologue during the sports festival and realizing several months too late that it wasn't his struggle to claim anymore.
Realizing for the first time that accepting One for All meant losing something, too.

"Wow." Hitoshi breathed, eyeing the little cacti plants that lined the top of the railing. Midoirya giggled.
"That's my first line of defense against invaders!" He informed Hitoshi, and he wished he could tell if the freckled boy was kidding or not. "Silver Arrow, Angel wings, Emerald wave, another Silver Arrow, a few Bunny Ears..." Midoriya trailed off, pointing to each of the dozen or so cacti and naming it. Hitoshi nodded along politely, taking a deep breathe.
The various plants gave the balcony an almost calm vibe, especially with how strongly it smelled of lavender now. There was some large, leafy plant close enough to almost brush Hitoshi as it bobbed with the small breeze, and a shelf on the dorm wall where Midoriya had a few Chia pets and some small pots that he couldn't identify. Hitoshi could certainly see the appeal.
