Description:

Minecraft VR is a new technology that rose in fame along with the resurgence of the game itself. It's groundbreaking technology, allowing for full immersion in the game. Everyone uses it; from casual players to streamers with millions of followers.

This technology only makes content creation better. And in particular, it makes the DreamSMP come alive.

But it also allows for a lot more than just a better gaming experience. Read about how Minecraft VR creates bonds between the people of DreamSMP (non-canonically, of course), and turns dreams into reality.

Notes:

The AU
- Basically just real life, but Minecraft has VR software. When you log in, your control transfers to your character in-game, so you don’t actually move in real life.
- You feel like you’re completely inside the game!
- You can customize how much hunger and pain you feel in-game. Dying just means you respawn!
- Your inventory, settings, and main menu can be accessed as a floating “screen” that is invisible to everyone else. - You can also voice call and video call with other people while in the game.
- Pretty much everything else is the same. The DreamSMP is a server, everyone on it is a content creator, etc.
- The VR is a recent development, and was only fully added to Minecraft in 2021. The technology is in other games too.
- Streams can be started in or out of VR, and ended anywhere. The streamer’s first person POV is shown, as well as a third person view of them. (Footage is taken and transmitted through invisible floating camera things.)
- Faceless streamers use Minecraft skins that aren’t their actual bodies/faces. Facecam streamers use skins that look like them.
