Summary
Sent to Nimbus III on an errand of doomed diplomacy, Sarek has a chance encounter with a Klingon, Councilor Gorkon. Before he can get very far in negotiations, however, Sarek is forced to return to Vulcan upon the unexpected death of his son by Khan's hands.
As he struggles to understand the moral implications of the Genesis Project, Gorkon decides to accompany Sarek and Amanda back to Vulcan for his own mysterious reasons -- even as the Klingon Empire prepares for war.
And then of course there is Curzon Dax -- a young man coming to Vulcan in the midst of an identity crisis. Paradoxically he is old enough to remember 150 years worth of one Vulcan family's history, and unlike Sarek and Amanda, he doesn't feel especially bound by Vulcan cultural taboos to keep his mouth shut.
During their strange time together, Gorkon's unexpected wisdom leads to some revelations concerning Sarek's relationship with Spock and his opinions of Spock's bondmate, and helps guide Sarek's actions as Sarek makes plans to visit Jim on Earth.

Strangely enough, getting locked in a closet in a transporter room isn't one of the recommended steps that a young officer needs to take in order to get a promotion in Starfleet. Unless, of course, you're a man like Mr. Adventure. In which case, feel free to be held up by your superior officer's phaser whenever you want.

Summary
Serving on the Enterprise under James T. Kirk is an awful lot like riding an express elevator to Hell, going down. Nothing ever seems to go quite according to plan. There's canceled shore leave to cope with, crazy bosses to work for, religious fanatics to outwit, Klingons to battle, and a transporter system that refuses to work no matter how hard you stroke its subroutines. Fortunately the hometown hero of Boring, Oregon can handle anything that the universe throws his way. He is, after all, Mr. Adventure...
Written as a follow-up to "Mr. Adventure's Wild Adventure." SORAL179 (of the K/S Archives) suggested that Mr. Adventure deserved another shot in the limelight, and I couldn't agree more. So here it is, with my personal apologies to Fucking, Boring, and Hell.

McCoy: "Jim, try to be open about this."
Kirk: "About what? That I've made the wrong choices in my life? That I turned left when I should've turned right? I know what my weaknesses are."
-----
Five months after the death of Capt. Kirk on the Enterprise-B, the event is still having a profound impact on those who knew the heroic Captain. After emerging from a self-imposed isolation on Vulcan, Spock finally decides to visit the ship, with mixed results. Capt. Harriman is frustrated and made guilty by it, Lt. Cmdr. Scott Heisenberg is not surprised by it, Capt. Montgomery Scott retreats from the pain, Ens. Demora Sulu feels an understandable amount of uncertainty in her choice to remain on the ship, and Cmdr. Saavik begins to fulfill a promise much sooner than she had originally thought possible when she made the vow.

Summary
“My, but we are in a bad mood today, aren’t we?” Q made a pouty face at Worf. “What’s wrong? Did we break our toy sword? Drink a little bit of prune juice that didn’t quite agree with us?”
Worf ground his teeth together. “I have nothing to say to you. Go away.”
Q’s facial expression became more serious, his eyebrows knitting together over his nose. “Or perhaps it’s that lovely Jadzia Dax that’s making us so irritable?”
Worf had always known that he needed a Klingon woman to be truly happy. A relationship with Jadzia Dax could never, ever, possibly work. So why does the troublesome Q seem to feel differently?
